I never liked Abyss, but the way they fucking up his character reminds me of how the WWE done fucked up Kane. Ever since they took Kane's mask off :itsawrap:

Abyss has always been one of my favorites...however I agree with you about them ruining his character. Wrestlers like Abyss, Kane, and others should remain "silent juggernauts"...once they have a "personality" they lose their mystique and "it" factor. Kane hasn't had a decent title run........EVER. Abyss had ONE title reign that was so short it was over with within a month.

TNA has a video on YouTube saying they have a major happening on Impact! in the first five minutes. Will it be RVD? Or Jeff Hardy? There's a lot to hate in the "new" TNA but they have ratcheted up the excitement quotient.

It would be funny if it were Bret Hart and the Hart Dynasty...and he comes out and says "This screw was 14 years in the making...Vince, fuck you!! From the Hart family!!"

:lol::lol::lol:

Bret wouldn't throw away his Mania payday, just coming off a divorce, but that would be an absolute classic moment in wrestling history.

Abyss' title run was a waste. He won the title as the result of a DQ anyway so it didn't even get him over anymore than he already was. The best Kane got was a ECW title reign.

Kane did have a one day reign as WWF champ.

"Good guy" Abyss shouldn't be champ but Abyss as "The Monster" should be a few months as champ with some babyface to rise up and take it. AJ would be perfect but they've made him "Naitch Jr.".

I've heard about Kane's 1 day reign though I wasn't watching Raw at the time. As for Abyss TNA has damn near ruined any chance of pushing him as the monster heel over the last year or so with his ridiculous and lame storylines. I could see TNA having an Abyss-Matt Morgan feud for the title later this year.TNA has some good in house talent that could eventually hold a singles title but almost all of them(Robert Roode, James Storm, Samoa Joe) are better as heels.

All of them guys are better as heel, you are dead right on that.

Abyss and Morgan already did that and they don't match up well in the ring. Morgan's got a heel push coming but he's going to be competing with Wolfe.
Rebuilding Abyss would be easy for good bookers but under Russo, Bisch, and Hogan, it's wait and see.
The next big face might be Hernandez. The guy's huge, is a good talent, can talk, and appeals to the Mexican demographic. I can see him challenging for the title by fall.

Check out Kane winning the WWF title from Austin. Good angles with good wrestling.

I was hoping for an L.A.X. reunion.........wait is Homicide still with TNA?

But Hernandez is a beast...he did the border toss on Devon..and threw him ACROSS the ring. He's raw power like Scott Norton (who never got his due in WCW).

LAX was awesome with Konnan. That dude could cut promos. I can say legitimately he talked me into buying a TNA ppv.
Hernandez is crazy strong and then does a lot of lucha shit like a dude that's 2/3 his size.
Homicide is still there.
Norton was a fucking bear in wrestling trunks. I think they used him more to get over guys in Japan than anything they used him for here.

Homicide has barely been seen since Bischoff and Hogan took over. And I liked his character as a straight up loose cannon. But if LAX gets back together I would prefer that it be the original LAX with Konnan who should have a decent relationship with Bischoff and Hogan.

TNA should have used their money to bring in Paul Heyman. They wouldn't have gotten the Monday night slot but the show would be better.

Some may disagree but Hogan+bischoff+flair getting too much tv time equals disaster. Next thing you know they'll try to bring back sid vicious, ddp, and vader .

Backstage report: TNA Wrestling morale low going into iMPACT's Monday premiere
By Brian Cantor
Mar 6, 2010 - 5:50:53 PM

Just days ahead of TNA iMPACT's official Monday night premiere, morale is "way down" in the TNA lockerroom, according to a report by F4WOnline.com.

While there has always been some skepticism about how the presence of aging wrestlers like Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair would affect the product, the concerns came to a head in response to the booking of the final Thursday iMPACT! episode.

Numerous wrestlers felt TNA totally missed the mark in terms of promotion, failing to establish the upcoming Monday night special as must-see (including virtually no hype for the various surprises) and even more greatly failing to hype the Destination X pay-per-view.

Intrigue in the rekindling of the 'Monday Night Wars' and viral word of big returns and surprise debuts occurring on the show might save Monday's iMPACT! from a ratings standpoint, but the feeling is that TNA has thus far failed to generate the momentum needed to turn the show into a long-term force against WWE RAW.

I'm doubting the validity of that report since all TNA has talked about since the last ppv was the Monday night debut, to the point of underselling the Destination X ppv for this month. So to hear that talent are saying they haven't pushed it makes no sense.

We discussed Konnan earlier and that door might be opened agains. TNA has a working agreement with AAA in Mexico, a company Konnan's heavily involvedd in. That wouldn't have happened if there were still hard feelings between both parties. That's really a good sign for TNA. Vince has had problems with countless individuals but almost always finds a way to make nice in the name of business (Bret Hart obviously, the Gagnes, Warrior). He even made overtures to Ole Anderson after Ole told him to go fuck himself. If TNA works with that philosophy, they will only benefit.

Kane could have had more title reigns but he told them no. He just wanted to help get the other talent over. A little too unselfish for me. And when they fucked up the mask angle when the bullshit "See No Evil" movie was out, and had all the fans amped to see him put his mask back on, then he pulled Rey Mysterio mask out the bag, fucked up everything

Kane's done as a main eventer and has been for a while but he's still good to get newer/younger guys over, like he's doing now with Drew McIntyre (who really needs the help, that dude is vanilla).

Jeff Hardy has arrived at the Impact Zone so he will be on tonight.
I have two hopes for this: they don't use him to kill the X-Division like last time and Homicide kicks the shit out of him for the chairshot on the Jan. 4 show. That dude needs to be back on tv.

Good to see that TNA has sense enough to change that horrible theme music. And starting with Hogan-Flair is a nice move if they actually wrestle.
