All this speculation about Sting going to the WWE.......

If and I do mean IF that were to happen .............

Y'all know that eventually the match the folks have wanted to see for about 10 yrs is gonna have to happen right:yes:
He should be the man to end the streak...but it won't happen.

As beat up as they both are, I don't know if either Sting or Taker could pull that match off.
It's speculation but it's not exactly wild speculation. When he leaves TNA for good, WWE will produce and release his dvd and they hope to induct him in their HoF. They wanted him last year for this year's induction and if he leaves TNA before or around the Rumble, they'll still most likely do it.

He should be the man to end the streak...but it won't happen.

He shouldn't end the streak. I'm for Taker losing at Mania but not to a veteran especially one on his last legs and has no WWE pedigree or history.

I watched live on ppv and I can't describe how disappointed I was. That would have put Sting on another level and it would have been the perfect time to wind down the nWo.

I just wanted to get everyone's thoughts. I've read, in a few different places, that the match should've basically been a Sting squash with him beating Hogan for 5-10 minutes, and then getting the pin.

I'm thinking that the described wouldn't have been a good ending. In fact, I would say that what we got in that match (besides the Hart stuff) was actually better.

What do you all think would've made for a good match between those two, given the build up?

I think a Sting squash wouldn't have been that interesting either. A proper match would probably be the way Sting was booked over Jeff Jarrett at Bound For Glory a few years ago: Sting starts strong, falls behind so Hogan can get some heat on him, and he no-sells Hulk like Hulk did countless guys for almost 15 yrs and pins him with the Scorpion Death Drop.

Hell, they could have kept it just like it was EXCEPT Nick Patrick actually does a fast count on Sting and the rest would have made sense.

I watched it on tv live back in 97 and when the regular count happened and Bret jumped in I didn't get why he jumped in. A whole year of Sting coming from the rafters and he just walks out at the ppv. I was let down with the whole thing. PPl waited over a year for Sting to beat that ass.

Oh fa sho. Sting's entrance was an automatic letdown and that fast count that wasn't was a killer. I sat there like "Oh shit, Sting just got murked!" And the stuff with Bret didn't help it at all. WCW never got that back.

Some good picks on the list. No way was Austin a better talker than the Rock. Why is Sheamus even on that list?

I'll always have Flair and Dusty above Rock but that's a ridiculous list as soon as you see Sheamus on the list. He might be a top 15 today or the last couple years but in WWE history?
What are JBL and Cena doing above Superstar Graham and Mick Foley?
I'm thinking if only the mic work they did in WWF/E, then the list is pretty close. Neither Flair nor Dusty nor Mick Foley did their best mic work in WWE since they were rarely allowed to be themselves.
Santino Marella? Seriously.

Just my personal, but I believe Flair should be #1. I think Ernie Ladd should be in the top 5 as well. Also, what about Jerry Lawler? Yeah, this list sucks for the most part. Probably created to stir up conversation just like that BET hip hop top 10 list...

The fact that Sheamus and Santino are on it and Ernie Ladd isn't (nobody cut good old fashion racist promos like "The Big Cat") makes me think it's based exclusively on work they did under the auspices of WWWF/WWF/WWE. In that case, Rock and Austin do go over Flair and Dusty.

shit they could of put the New Age Outlaws up there instead of those too. And in my opinion Austin wasn't a better shit talker than The Rock.

Yeah, how did the Outlaws not make the list but those two did?

I got Austin over Rock because he did it longer and he almost singlehandedly talked himself into a babyface and Bret Hart into a heel.
Plus, and this isn't something I particularly like, he started the "What?" chant that fans still do.

good point. I been seeing all of these Rock greatest quotes and shit on you tube and dude was funny as hell. He had the whole arena doing his "Rocky" chant and hell even when he was heel they were still saying it.

For many generations, families around the world have enjoyed WWE. Unfortunately,
as a result of recent political events, some of the media have unfairly and inaccurately criticized the company. Therefore, we are calling on the WWE Universe to speak out and "Stand Up for WWE."

Please click here to see a special video from WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon.

are you going to stand up for WWE well really Linda McMahon ???

That's why they had to turn him. One of my favorite WWF moments/angles was when they faked like they were going to turn him going into a WWF title tournament and then had him join Mr. McMahon's Corporation faction. He went from a top heel to a tweener to THE top heel.
I still got Austin over Rock because he literally changed the game with him mouth.

From what I saw on the YouTube video, they've disabled comments so I guess they don't want you to stand up in the wrong way.

Man, the top four(Rock, Flair, Jericho, Austin) I got made is so close. All four men really changed the game the way they cut promos and no matter what side they were on, the crowd was always drawn into the shit they were saying. The Rock could diss a whole town but five minutes later the crowd would finish some of his catchphrases.

Absolutely true but Flair did it for 30 years. When he came back from the plane crash, fans wanted to cheer and then he cut a heel promo and threw away a bunch of Get Well cards on tv and he was back to being the top heel in Mid Atlantic.

For you guys thinking WWE needs to turn Cena, if they don't do it at Bragging Rights, they'll never have a more perfect opportunity. They have it set up in a way they can put the title on Barrett because of Cena's interference (no way JC works a ppv just standing in a corner) and then turn him and elevate his new good buddy R-Truth.
While I know Vince doesn't watch TNA, many people in WWE mgmt do and them turning Hardy and getting so much buzz from it (including a blip on the ratings chart), the idea may be to overshadow them with a Cena turn.

If they don't, we've already seen this with Michaels-JBL.

Batista Speaks Out - Why He Left WWE + A Return?

On Why He Left WWE:

"I didn't agree with the direction the company was going in. It was geared more toward the PG rating. I fell in love with wrestling again in the late '90s with 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin and 'The Rock' Dwayne Johnson … It was edgy, and that was the kind of wrestling I knew and loved. It wasn't like that anymore, and my passion for it died a little bit."

On What He Tells People He Does Now:

"I just tell them I'm unemployed. They look at me kind of funny."

On Getting Punched For Real In MMA:

"I was also a bouncer for 10 years, so I've been punched in the face. I've punched people in the face. It's nothing new to me. As long as somebody doesn't send me into having surgery. I'm fine with it."

On A Possible Return To WWE:

"I'm hoping the cycle will come around again, and it'll get a little edgy and it'll be my time to come back and shine a little bit. I love kids. I'm not anti-kids. I just don't think kids are going to relate to me the same way they're going to guys like John Cena, guys who are, to me, more bubblegum. There's nothing bubblegum about me."

Batista Speaks Out - Why He Left WWE + A Return?

http://www.prowrestlingscoops.com/article/289196970.php

Interesting. He's right. Batista works better as a heel and he had a real old school vibe to him that really made his last feud with Cena work because Cena looked vulnerable (until the end). This current WWE does not allow for heels to get real heat on babyfaces (something WWF/E hasn't really been good at anyway).

Refresh my memory on that...I vaguely remember that entire fued

Michaels was in financial straits and was bailed out by JBL under the condition he worked for JBL, including helping him win matches. If he disobeyed or struck JBL...I'm not sure what the punishment was. I'm sure it was some simple shit like I'll take back my money but that doesn't make sense. Shit, that gives this angle one good thing in that it has a clear storyline. If someone else remembers the Michaels-JBL angle better, help me out.

~WWE Wants The 4 Horseman In Next Years Hall Of Fame~
1287517792.png

-- As noted earlier, names that remain in discussion for next year's 2011 WWE Hall of Fame in Atlanta during Wrestlemania 27 weekend include Ron Simmons, Lex Luger and Bill Goldberg. There was also interest in inducting the Four Horseman as a group, but that would only depend on Ric Flair's availability and if he wasn't still signed with TNA after this year. The same discussion was made about Sting, but that again depends on his contractual status with TNA.

Since Wrestlemania will be in Atlanta, this is going to be an NWA/WCW Hall of Fame

I think that's great though they're really stretching with the Goldberg induction. I loved Bill but dude was a flash in the pan.
They don't need Flair to induct fucking Arn Anderson, who works for the company right now and still gets good pops when he comes out and he's been retired for over 12 years.
Luger
Sting (if he's available and really TNA should let him go get that money)
Fabulous Freebirds
Rock N Roll Express
Ivan Koloff (he beat Bruno, for fuck's sake)

I would go for Simmons but since they'll have another Mania in Florida, I'd save him for then since he's still huge in that state based off his college football career.
I'd try again with the Warrior. It would be cool for him and Sting to be inducted in the same class.
