Had chic buy me a drink while standing at the bar waiting to order. She paid, said enjoy and walked away and I never seen her again.
If he had those applications on his phone than chances are he could of paid for the date being that a lot of restaurants take diff forms of pay electronically
I specially mention the date's response because he tells her he will pay her when he gets home. I would expect the date to at least ask if he had any of the options.
As for your point, I would have been screwed if this ever happens to me. I hardly keep any cash on me, and I only use Zelle or Cash app. For whatever reason, I don't do any of the apps that let you use your phone as a credit card.

Just be careful putting your card in your phone because if you lose your phone a person can use your card. People crafty now with stealing people's information that have their cards on their phones. I've heard too many horror stories of people getting scammed because of having their card on their phone to pay things.
