I almost always pay for the first date, because it is almost always me asking someone out. If a woman asks me out, or it's our second date and she doesn't at least offer to pay, -( sometimes I let her, sometimes I insist on paying - but if she doesn't offer to pay?) yeah, I'm not pursuing her any further.
I never say anything to them about it- and feel free to call me silly for "playing games" or "testing" broads if you must, but I'M the one who has to deal with them and whatever nonsense they might be bringing- not anyone else on the internet and I've found it an easy way to get a general idea of where someone's head is at.

Had something similar happen back in the early to mid 90's, had put my wallet in my desk & at the end of the day was rushing out to meet a chick for a first date. Most men would hopefully raise a daughter who’s not an opportunist and actually would go out with a man that she actually likes.
