 I swear I don't understand a world were you can't talk about what you don't like and people think something is wrong with you if your issues are specific and thoughtout. Shouldn't the question be about how could you like something and not have specific or thoughtout reasons why you like it or even enough of idea of why it is good in your opinion to discuss it with answers for the naysayers... and if it isn't that important to go that deep... why would you feel it necessary to post a generic "you hating" comment...:dunno:

I understand it perfect. Let me 'splain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up:

1) Emo artist gets criticized
2) Emo artist feels some type of way like he's above criticism though I'm quite sure he criticized artists or their projects before he got on.
3) Emo artist fans become loyal because they're Emo just like him
4) Emo artist loyal emo fan is talentless with fragile feelings so they look at criticism as "hating" and not an opportunity to grow and evolve
5)Emo artist loyal talentless emo fan one day wishes to be in the spotlight but doesn't want the criticism that comes with the fame so they're throwing preemptive strikes at it while wrapping their Emo hero in their criticism free cape.

2 people i don't debate with, a person who thinks Wayne got "lyrics/bars" and people who think 2Pac is the "Greatest Rapper of All Time". My day goes much smoother when none of these topics come up....

Got to give wayne props for hustling people for millions with those corny lines. I mean, "All about my riches/ My name should be Richard":smh: Dude said fuck effort!, ya'll gonna take these bars and like it.

Well him and Rick Ross have mastered the saying nothing over a beat but it sounds good style.

"I'm eat'in chicken while listen to the radio
I didn't like the sound I should have turned from the get go
I guess it's time to cut the nail off my big toe
I could have sworn I cut that shit about a month ago"

:lol: Don't get me wrong I be :dance: but when you actually start to hear the words I be like.:hmm::confused::confused:

Damn people are really shitting on his new album. Im not a lil wayne fan but to me his shit sounds the same as all the other stuff that hes made in the past. Schizophrenic lyrics with sexual innuendos, puns, flipping catch phrases to mean something different, a few name dropping, with a Carter laugh at the end of the song that sounds like a gerbil choking. :dunno:

Naw, he said he was a great rapper, and dumb asses started repeating it :smh:

Basically.

Is it ever okay to say someone can't rap:confused:

The whole 'hate' shit is stupid because this is about his lyrics. If you motherfuckers can't even see the validity in saying his lyrics are bad then why waste your time commenting unless you are going to defend what he says and pointing out why it isn't wack.

These lame ass niggas throw around da word "hate" or "haters" like a bunch of ol' bird brain ass hoes whenever you don't take a liking to their interests. :smh:

So people can only comment on the things they like or can we not spend time commenting on anything at all:confused:

Believe it or not, A LOT of these spongebob ass niggas think EXACTLY like that.

Word. Fuck all that shit. Why is it when we don't like something (or don't give something that is agreed upon the majority as bullshit a pass) we are called haters.....fuck what you heard, I don't have to LIKE everything. If that's the case then file me under as a Hating Ass Hater.....or H.A.H for short. :hmm:

For real though.

:roflmao: the the Lil Wayne Defense League in every thread trying to explain this bullshit.

his team is strong and determined.

I'm not much of a Wayne fan and I'm not crazy about C4, but you're not very observant if you don't realize it's cool for a certain kind of fan to hate Wayne.

It's very similar to Jay-z around 10 or 11 years ago. He's the evil popular hiphop star who the kids love and the older people think he's a reflection of the falling standards of a once great music genre. Nothing new here.

Even if the older people are right, he'll still be considered a legend when its over.

then i have to ask you why if its an album full or garbage?

you don't need thought provoking line after line but some of them need to make sense at least.

When I wanna hear some thought provoking music, then I'll just open my itunes and press play on something, I have plenty on thought provoking shit to bump on.

But I didn't wanna hear no thought provoking shit, I wanted to hear what Lil Wayne was rambling about

I do like his hard work tho he's consistent wish alot of artist worked as hard not in my top 20

When Nikki said the greatest rapper alive line...I respected it (Drake didnt want no part of that obviously:lol:).

Based on work ethic.

He good and like Fat Joe, one of the few rappers who actually improved with age...

but damn I am sick of his fans claiming he a lyrical genius or something:smh:

Other then that...he good.

Kweli better worry about his own albums cause his shit hasn't been the same since that first Reflection Eternal album... He is looking mad Raekwon-ish, but Raekwon found his stride again... while the only thing I'm looking forward to from Kweli is a Jean Grae album.

So no one can just be a fan of hip hop and be critical of weak music in the artform? I mean Watch the Throne was criticized for it's weak spots... You can't even go into a Gucci Mane thread without people going hard on how wack he is. Also, in what world should I say I don't like an artist if I don't know their music. They may drop some shit that I like and I'll never kno...

You can actually do whatever you want to do. I'm just saying that the average kat doesn't give this much attention to someone or something they don't like. There are many artists out there that I don't understanf how they got on, but I don't have an overwhelming need to mention it constantly, nor do I bask in the glory of their failures. I have no idea how many units Gucci man last sold, nor do I care because I don't like him as an artist. Question, has Wayne ever dropped anything you liked? If not then why keep listening? If so then say he was once good but now he's on the decline. You can't tell me that you don't realize that most of these kats speaking on it wouldn't have said it was hot anyway. They're the same ones that said Carter 3 was trash and Carter 2 aint a classic. That's who I'm talkin bout.

I'm a hip hop fan... not an artist fan. I listen to everything no matter what cause you never know. It doesn't matter what else is going on, but the record I'm listening to at the moment. Rappers that I thought were wack have grown on me and release shit that I like. Rappers that I thought were untouchable have dropped frisbees. Rappers that no one knows outside of the internet have won me over and have become my favorites. The problem is why do I have be diplomatic about what I like and don't like for whatever reason... More importantly, if I'm not bullshitting you and giving you a reason that has nothing to do with the music or just a non reason period. I'm talking directly about the music and I am SPECIFIC about what is wack... there is nothing vague about this criticism... What is vague is your defense of this shit. I don't care what angle you want to take... wack lyrics are wack lyrics and no one should get a pass for that shit on an album... it's not like a freestyle or a cypher... this is shit he prepared and put time into.

Lol, my defense was vague because I never "defended" shit. As a matter of fact I already agreed that it was wack. Hey look here, you got it dude. You're right. The countless Wayne threads that bombard this board are simply the honest criticism of a consitently wack artist. I recognoze now that most of you kats are simply "connoisseurs of hip-hop" that give the same amount of attention to every artist that drops a wack cd because you listen to them all objectively. I digress.

Kweli can kick rocks with that shit, I haven't bought an actual cd in years and the last one I went to buy they didn't have in the store. Coochiemonster, the "average" person doesn't give anything that much thought yet they're quick to shout down those of us that do. Thats my prbmgl iphshit and other people take this shit to heart and it ain't fair to them that a half assing mu'fucka can get away with shit time after time . then niggas go why you even thinking about it it's just music.

Look I don't like ace hood, but i blog and niggas ask me about hip-hop so I listen so I can be informed when I speak. His last album actually somewhat impressed me and thats what I listen for. please prove me wrong with your record.

I liked Tha Carter IV for the most part, but everybody know that this dude spits some str8 up bullshit on almost all of his songs, it's always been like that.

The only thing that's even more sadder than this list of quotes tho, is the person that sat there and actually composed it.
Think about it for a second, that person had to sit there and listen to every song, and then they had to rewind these songs over, and over again, just to make sure they had the quotes worded correctly. That's some real sad shit if you ask me.

And the saddest shit of all, is that the dudes who hate this lil dude will actually read all 60 of these quotes, but won't pop in the cd to give it a listen. :smh:

I don't understand this comment at all. If a person is trying to garner attention and make money with a prominent Hip Hop blog or start their own Hip Hop Magazine like a Source or XXL, that's what Hip Hop journalists do; thats what critics who have a passion for rapmusic do. How is that sad?
