I have heard this a few times from writers and directors like it's some badge if honor or impressive
But I will say this I like a great writer or director of a genre tackling something outside their base.
Even if Spielberg never read a fantastic four comic? I want him to do it.
If the john wick director never read iron fist or daredevil? I want him to do it.
but BEFORE you start you gotta be an expert and immerse yourself in it.
I think Nolan didn't really know Batman either. Kevin Smith with He Man.

Fucking cringe worthy interview. It shows the lead actor and the showrunner have no respect for the fanbase they are trying to sell this show to or the material this show is based on.
And you can tell he really didn’t know Batman. It was the villains that made those Nolan flicks. Batman was just ok in those flicks. I think the writers directors should know what they are dealing with…

As long as they keep it fairly self contained it could be decent, I like the fights and the look of the show overall. Just please don't connect it to stuff and try to change up the overall lore.

They just let any and everybody write and direct a Star Wars properties. If I was the studio head the first thing I would do is put it out there get the person who wrote Rogue One and Andor tell them this is yours now.
The writing is good and most of these movies you don't need my content. Most of these movies can stand on their own.
