Uncle buck TV series (2016) Roku

Since I was off today I decided to watch random shit . And this caught my eye. I remember when this first came out. I was one of the people. Who was against the show. Without giving it a chance, but I finally watched it. And I thought it was good.

It was canceled after only 8 episodes. I think this should have gotten a full season. I would recommend this show. If you have nothing to do.

The Night Agent

I'm headed towards episode 7 of this very involving series. The pacing stalls here and there but picks up when it needs to providing enough action and twist and turns that makes me look forward to each episode

Carnival Row

I thought season one was great. The characters, the romance, action and violence was done so right and sharp.
Such strong story threads and I really felt something the more intense things became.
Season 2 started to lose me by episode 8. I've watched a couple of interviews and I know some of the production was effected by Covid19 but did they have to write it and end it in a way that felt forced?
Characters did a complete about face on who or what they wanted. Any real strong story threads vanished. I truthfully only watched the last episode to see characters I didn't like get what they deserved.
Even the redemption stories were weak.
They wrote one end for some characters that was supposed to be a happy ending but it was unintentionally funny.
What a lousy end to a at times great show

I am definitely liking this show

Anyone watching this series thus far? Just listened to an interview with the creator and director yesterday (the 2nd Ringer link below).

The Consultant

The final episode of season 1 made me go back and think about everything that happened in the previous episodes.
Sure Christoph Waltz's character Regus Patof was eccentric, manipulative and possibly insane but what did he really do? Did he uplift or was he just a great puppet master? Was he the person the characters and audience thought he was? I love a series or a show that makes you wonder about it weeks after it's conclusion.

The Night Agent

The conclusion of this series was pretty good with a lot of good banter, twists and turns and action. Definitely some suspenseful moments near the end and some revelations that were definitely not predictable. It's going to be interesting to see what they come up with for season 2

Succession Season 4, Episode 3

Well....DAMN....HBO....you swept the rug from right underneath me again!!
I think I said : is this really happening!?! about 20 times.
I liked the way the family side and business side were shown and it's really like this in big business.
It was so well done.

Thanks for the link. Gonna give it a read.

The main series I've watched from Amazon in recent years = The Night Manager, Goliath, The Consultant, Swarm.

We finished it on Monday evening. Overall a good watch ... don't think it overstayed its welcome. Just right at 8 eps around the 30 min mark each. Enjoyed the moments of tension ... and where exactly some of the plot lines would go. Fun to watch the younger actors (about half his age) work scenes 1 on 1 with Waltz.

The Mandolorian

Absolutely nothing like last weeks episode.
Far more involving with a much focused story.
Definitely displayed how The Empire may have suffered major losses and was crippled but never truly vanished. The seeds of The Empire were planted by the Dark Side of the Force which continued to shroud it and strengthen it.

BEEF

I'm 6 episodes in and I'm enjoying it.
I never watched any trailers for this series but from the pictures and posters I knew what the foundation of the show was but it turned out to be so much more. It tackles so many things that were unexpected and actually thought provoking at times. It's involving, funny and dramatic.

Picard

I figured out the big revelation weeks ago but this was still a fun and nostalgia filled episode. I was hoping to see a certain character but maybe they will show up for the big finale.
