Movie Pass Movie Crash

Great behind the scenes documentary about Movie Pass.Finacing, cant get financing because of race,or and skeptics.Founders of the company getting pushed out. Scheming by the new heads of the company.
As a person that was at a Multiplex theatre almost every Thursday,Friday and Saturday, until i developed a deep relationship with the Alamo Draft House Movie Pass was that to good to be true dream discount for me. I mean 10 bucks a month any movie you want to see? No waiting 2 or 3 weeks to see a new movie deal. GREAT but of course the bubble burst. I still remember the day the clerks and ushers yelling at the AMC theatre they were no longer honoring Movie Pass deals. It's still around but far less popular due to lame credit lines and not really saving any money.

Scale of 1 to 10 a 10

Also forgot to mention ... season 1 of Under the Bridge.

Reason being is because it hits close to home for her. It's based upon a murder which took place in late-1997 in a neighboring community to where she lives now (from 2009 onward).

Also ... my mom used to work in nursing, and spent time working in youth secure custody / custodies, etc.

2 of the people involved in the murder were people she had direct interaction with, particularly the lead female.

* Side note ... for those who have seen Mare of Easttown from a handful of years back ... the murder which takes place in that pilot episode may have drawn upon / been inspired by the following too (girl getting attacked near the woods, and creek / ravine).

Under the Bridge is an American true crime drama television miniseries developed by Quinn Shephard that is based upon the book of the same name by Rebecca Godfrey. The series premiered on Hulu on April 17, 2024.[1]

Premise

It follows the murder of Reena Virk, as a writer enters the hidden world of the accused killers.

Reena Virk (Punjabi: ਰੀਨਾ ਵਿਰਕ; March 10, 1983 – November 14, 1997) was a 14-year-old Canadian girl who was beaten and killed by a group of teenagers in Saanich, British Columbia, Canada. Her status as a victim of bullying prior to her murder attracted substantial media scrutiny in Canada. Six teenagers were tried and convicted for their participation in her death. The Globe and Mail commented at the time that her case was "elevated into a national tragedy".[1] A pair of Canadian sociologists have described the case as a watershed moment for a "moral panic" over girl violence by the Canadian public in the late 1990s.[2][3][4]

Thanks Playa. She's doing pretty good. Visited with her and her boyfriend just before mid-April. Spent 3 days with them.

Under the Bridge ... yeah ... we were having trouble tracking it down on Canadian listings.

Found a few episodes online ... just need to find the rest and save them in a folder for her.

Lily Gladstone and Riley Keough are amongst the cast. Also, Archie Panjabi too (most recently from Hijack).

Well earned.

Watched the season 3 finale last night.

2 good scenes with Ava and Deborah in the final 10 minutes. Good to see Ava showing a thicker skin / darker side when wronged by Deb’.

..WTF..? Never saw this episode..i presume Della Reese wasn't in this one?

EDIT:Nevermind

I had to school some young kids freaking out about this...

White folk are simple as f**k. This may sound insane but shows and moments like this helped white children and white folk actually begin to understand appreciate and empathize with the Black experience. As crazy as that sounds in 2024

This wasn't blackface in that sense. This folk actually had the best of intentions and knew their audience

All this sh*t is never for US. Its these white folk who are sensitive as he'll and have to be coddled and babied toward basic humanity.
