It was slow but wrapped up pretty well. It's USA they are not showing much but SVU and Chicago PD reruns why cancel it.
I thought it was pretty good too. From one of the articles -
"It was produced by UCP and Paramount Television.
Greenwald revealed the news on social media and added that he had signed a new deal with UCP and has a “bunch of pots on a number of burners”.
He also teased that if enough people check out the show on demand, “anything’s possible – especially for an anthology series as weird as this one”.
He wrote, “Just wanted to let you know some disappointing news before you hear it from anyone else:
Briarpatch isn’t returning for another season at USA. Though I’ve known for months, it’s still a bummer. We had an amazing story planned for S2 and I was lucky enough to work with the most amazing writers and crew, all of whom were itching to get back to work. I think we were going to do something special. And, hey, maybe we still will. If enough people keep checking the show out on demand, anything’s possible – especially for an anthology series as weird as this one. Nothing’s over until it’s over. But if it’s over? What a way to go.”
“I am so fortunate. We got to tell our entire story, beginning to end, just as we intended. We got to finish production and post-production before this awful pandemic hit, shutting down our industry and so much else in the world. We got real giraffes,” he added.
Thanking the producers and stars, he called making
Briarpatch “the best experience of my life”. “Thanks to everyone who hung a light, fit an extra, served a meal and assembled a cut. Thanks to Albuquerque. Thanks to Ross Thomas. Thanks to everyone who watched (especially the wrestling fans who fell asleep with their TV on in numbers nearly great enough to save us).”
“I just signed a new deal with the studio and I have a bunch of pots on a number of burners. I can’t wait to show you guys what’s next. But, let’s be honest, nothing will ever compare to the first time. So won’t you join me in raising a glass or three to the great people of Saint Disgrace, Texas? As the sign on the way into town says, It Stays With You. It sure does,” he concluded."
