RIP. He made kids like me think baseball was cool, we couldn’t afford aluminum bats and gloves and all the gear, but a tennis ball, someone’s mama/grandma’s wooden bat aka, the home security system, and a open field/lot was all we needed to get a game crackin because once we got on base, we could all be Ricky.

May he rest well.

R.i.p if he played today he would be one of if not the biggest star today just from his personality "Ricky going to get 3 stolen bases today " lol

What in the hell!!! He was just at the last A's game played in Oakland in September!! Rickey always looked fit and healthy. Tomorrow isn't promised to any of us. The fact that one of the ten greatest players in baseball history, and one of the most charismatic and stylish players of all time in any sport wasn't an instant sticky is just another reminder of just how much baseball has been lost in our community. Rickey was the Muhammad Ali of baseball, a genuine player for the ages, and there will NEVER be another one like him.

if you 40 plus....living your best life day in and day out is the only option...quit letting these women and jobs and circumstances rob you of the time you have left here....

yeah Ricky died early but it aint that early since most of us are outta here by 72....and that varies by where you live....

people will drain the life out of us if we let them

Rickey Henderson was from one of my favorite eras in MLB.

You just knew certain things back then.

Pete Rose was the hits king.

Cal Ripken Jr was MLB's iron man.

George Brett played in Kansas City.
Robin Yount played in Milwaukee.
Nolan Ryan played in Texas.
Ken Griffey Jr played in Seattle.

Rickey Henderson was the stolen bases king.

Watching the Braves on TBS.
Watching the Cubs on WGN.

Watching the sports highlights on Sportscenter or CNN(Fred Hickman/Nick Charles).

It's a very sad day indeed.

R.I.P.
