He put in work for the Mets in ‘99.

Crazy because he seemed to be in pretty decent shape at his age.

1406 stolen bases and second place is damn near 500 behind him.:itsawrap:

RIP.

i'm shocked by this.......i loved his cockiness and confidence and it helped him be one of baseballs greatest players ever. there was nothing more exciting than when he'd hit a single and and you just knew he was stealing second. get there you like ahhhh shit he going from 3rd too ...lol i still got cards somewhere of his famously low baseball stance. then turning it over to see all his stats and all you can say is wow.....and dam! ain't nobody touching the stolen bases record....lol. r.i.p legend

Rest easy, sir. One HAS to come into this thread heaping praise and respect. This man was Barry Bonds & Strawberry, without all the shit behind it. He was your dad’s favorite player or the last of the players you grew up seeing bust MF hopes and dreams. HA! Griffith, Jackson and Henderson, man!

PUT SOME RESPECT ON HIS NAME!

If you are a Baseball Purist and this is just MY opinion he is Top 10 and in no particular order

Pete Rose
Ty Cobb
Honus Wagner
Babe Ruth
Rickey Henderson
Willie Mays
Barry Bonds
Hank Aaron
Josh Gibson
Ted Williams

R.I.P... and Steals

and in the modern day WAR stats he would possibly be considered the #1

Although I was somewhat forced into watching Baseball as a youth, and the very little I understood of it, I DEFINITELY remember Ricky Henderson. I recall him being notorious for stealing bases.

You're going to be missed #LEGEND
Rest up until G-d calls us home.

One of the first baseball games my dad brought me to as a kid was an Oakland A's game to see him play. RIP

My favorite toy growing up as a kid was a A's Teddy bear from that same game he bought a lot of excitement to the franchise.

RIP Rickey Henderson.

Watching him play added so much more fun to the game of baseball.

He'd steal bases so fast he made you pay attention at all times when he was on field.

probably the most underrated MLB player ever because he should be consistently ranked in the top 5, no lower than 10.

Also, the lack of coverage of his passing would reiterate that point.

RIP

Was on my way to Circa Casino with my son to celebrate his birthday when my friend text me and let me know that Rickey Henderson passed. He was my favorite baseball player. I lived in NJ during his prime years and my HS didn't have number 24 for me to wear. Numbers only went up to 18. When I got to college, #24 was available, so I wore it. Rickey Henderson did some remarkable things as a baseball player that I doubt we will ever see again. Rest in Peace.

He use to drive sportscasters nuts speaking of himself in the 3rd person.

65 is young I'm sad to see him go - R.I.P. Rickey :(
