No you are fucking bugging and don't know anything about Lauryn.
Her first gift is poetry. She got that Andre 3000 shit but she don't have it as bad as him.
Did Andre write his rhymes? Cause he don't wanna rap no more either.
Do you question Andre's MC status? Da Fuck?
Kool G Rap aint done shit in forever. You question his status?

The discography of American rapper Kool G Rap consists of 9 studio albums, two collaborative albums, one EP, and thirty singles.

André 3000 embarked on his musical career in 1991, as a member of the Southern hip hop group OutKast, alongside fellow Atlanta-based rapper Big Boi. Together they have recorded and released six studio albums,

American singer and rapper Lauryn Hill has released one studio album, one live album, and 20 singles (including nine singles as a featured artist)

how many of those works does she actually rap vs just singing???

I asked does The Score count and all I got back was a NO and a laff emoji... :dunno:

I never said she wasn't a good rapper I'm saying her sample size is too small compared to those you listed.

Hell, since I'm pissing people off, why stop now? Jadakiss is good but overrated.

I think you conflating a few different issues. But I understand your point.

Jadakiss is an icon

He is ridiculously consistent

And that is such a rarity.

Especially in this disposable culture.

He isn't top 5 dead or alive

But I LOVE that he is being celebrated because he a real MC.

We should NEVER under appreciate that

Because it has a trickledown effect and groups like the Lox are also being honored

And they DESERVE to be.

So what you calling overrated to me is just someone who did things the right way in an evil industry being recognized and rewarded.

and I think that is a good thing for hip hop and we need more of it.

FOR THE RECORD... I never said Pac sucked or was a bad rapper....just in his and biggies lifetime they were NOT on anyone's top 5 list of greatest rappers and certainly wasn't trading off the 1 and 2 spots....until AFTER they were both killed.

ya'll know this so stop the shock and surprise.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

The thing I liked about 'Pac, was his passion when he delivered his lyrics. Regardless of what he was rapping about, you could tell he felt that shit.

/discussion

His energy passion charisma...

He would have been an incredible world defining politician civil rights leader or teacher.

It wasn't the words it was HOW HE SAID THEM.

That matters.

Biggie will always be the better MC

But Pac was a poet and true orator for a generation and community

That is just patently false.

Period.

Biggie was crowned immediately and everyone accepted it

Same for Nas.

That's just fact.

Yes

But she still one of the best mcs I ever heard

Male or female

And best voices period.

And that solo album is perfection regardless of the process.
I'm with you on this. I was in Brooklyn when this album dropped. They wore that shit out. That first single was a monster!

-Nas has two decent albums Illmatic and Stillmatic and a few decent songs he's dropped over the years but a lot of that shit will never live up to those two albums.

-Guru from Gangstarr doesn't get his props for his lyrics and how dope he remained over a few decades

-UGK is overrated,I couldn't listen to their whole tape/cd never and 8ball&MJG were much better rappers and picked better beats.

-80's/90's hiphop before gangster rap was force fed to the masses was the greatest time in hiphop because it was alive,it had substance that influenced people to have fun but also stand for something and be proud to be black.

-Gangster rap helped kill a lot of us,the soundtrack to so many of our lives.

-Just cause you can make rap music doesn't mean you should make rap music

-Puffy and Suge are the main reasons 2pac and Biggie are dead, they set the stage for all of that street shit to go on,East vs West, company vs company,my crew vs your crew.Suge had Biggie killed.

-Southern rap went mainstream and lost its sound, which is like microwave popcorn.

-NYC is the birth place of hiphop/rap but the rappers/lables and people with power didn't pass the mic to no one but themselves which killed off a lot of the local talent and then they started searching for talent in other places.

-The more money came the more expensive rappers and rap became and it's at the point where it's just too expensive for most to even imagine having or enjoying the shit they claim to own;Fuck a Bentley,Maybac,a Jet,a mansion and the rest of that shiiit their wasting their money on.
