Tupac rode the bad boy/ignorant ninja image. He was the Bokeem Woodbine of rap. Jay Z was overrated but to his credit he did put out some good music in the mid 90s when everyone was putting out garbage.
Her career was already on the wane when that Super Bowl happened. In the minutes before the incident everyone was asking why did MTV decide to do a 1999 show in 2004 and her bit was even more dated. I guess my controversial opinion is, it wasn't racism that kept Janet from being bigger, it's because Madonna reinvented herself every decade or so, while Janet arguably didn't really change at all after about 1996.

Dave Chappelle went overboard with the trans stuff in the last show (IMO he said it best in Equanimity and should have moved on from there) and its an unnecessary distraction to his career and puts him at the forefront of an issue I think deep down he doesn't want to be the face of.

I think he said what was on a whole lot of other people's minds. Returning to it again was perhaps unnecessary, but frankly, I can't seem to tune in to any "progressive" media station, radio nor TV, without hearing about the plight of the tranny, and how men with shorn penises (peni?) are actually women, and that we must changed the goddamned language in order to accommodate what is essentially someone else's private, existential crisis.

A doctors first Hippocratic oath order is to do no harm....a comedian's first order (IMO) isn't to tell the truth..its TO ENTERTAIN. The truth (as you know it) can used to do that BUT it gets very dicey when you play that rule aggressively.

If Joe Rogan or Bill Burr did a series of specials where they kept coming back to BLM and the contradictions and inners issues that movement has and then declared I'M TEAM AMERICA and a whole theater of mostly non black people cheered and said he's telling the truth and thats how I feel.... honestly...how do you think the black community would take it??
