I have been cursed at, kicked out of a relative's house, and served cold coffee at a diner
for the crime of suggesting Beyonce is not a good singer.
But I grew up listening to the likes of Aretha Franklin, Tania Maria, Flora Purim, Billie Holiday, and Minnie Ripperton.
Putting B. in this category is like putting Kenny G. in the jazz section along with Miles.

I’m right there with you; and I have met Beyonce. The crazy thing is this: Her songs suck! They won’t age worth a damn. I’m still banging an Aretha joint from 1980 but I can’t say that about B’s music.
She is basically a high-tech stripper. She is extremely attractive, physically. She gets on stage, literally shakes her super-fine ass, and the crowd goes nuts. She seems to chant rather than sing.
I was asked to leave a relative's house because I complained aloud about her trying to sing Etta James songs. LIke Kenny G. trying to play John Coltrane. That dog don't hunt.

Had Sega not made the myriad of mistakes they made in the 90s, they and Sony would be the last two video game hardware companies standing and Nintendo would be a 3rd party publisher.
If Sega doesn't release the Sega CD or the 32X or bungle Saturn's development and release, I think Nintendo doesn't survive the 5th generation.
Nintendo has survived this long on the popularity of their IP's, the fact that the Wii was released before the rise of mobile games, and pure nostalgia. Nintendo doesn't really innovate, they never really out specced their competition even when they seemingly had the more powerful hardware, and these days they don't even try to.
Sega built a foundation with the Genesis and fumbled it mightly. If SOA and SOJ get on the same page, forget the add-ons and let Sony go first with the PS1, I believe Sega would still be around and we'd be talking PlayStation 5 vs Saturn 5.

I can see how anti vaxxers get their thought process. The people pushing vaccines are doing things to feed conspiracy theories. In my town, all the signs encouraging people to get vaccinated are in BLACK neighborhoods. You don't see these signs in white communities. I still think its better to be vaccinated although they dont know how long the protection will last.
