I believe DL was out of pocket publicly speaking on another man's situation. Not even to mention on bitch ass VladTV. IRL I side eye ANY nigga speaking on another man's household. Too much like feminine gossip energy. Especially if they not close family and even more so on a public forum. Social Media got MEN way off code. Every option need to be spoken. Corporations, entertainers and people that are influencers use gang language and signs to sublimely entice folks to buy there products, services or to convince people their ideas are how you should do things. And most folks fall hook, line and sinker for it too.

Homework should not be given to children in elementary, middle, and high school. When people go home they shouldn’t bring work inside the house.
Nope, they would be started for the same reasons as they are now. The want for more power is universal. This whole idea that women are not violent is taking advantage of the stereotype that women can't be violent and have no agency to start it. Kind of similar to the adjacent idea that focusing exclusively on women's issues are going to magically fix all men's issues as well. I'm not a MRA but we'd be a lot better off if we stop with the "Men/Women just aren't capable of doing X" jazz and realize no one has a monopoly on being a shitty person.

But as a hip hip version it was very well done much like her entire album

We, or should I say I didn’t hear about Lauryn not crediting artists with their input on her album until over 20 years after it was releasedthe albums history doesn’t change for me.
But back to liking the song that we hear first. I like the Maxwell version better. Maybe it’s because I heard his version first or maybe I’m just biased!

My recollection of history regarding that song is entirely different. MTV was VERY popular at the time so it was immediately know that Vanilla Ice was white!
Yeah maybe some heard the song on the radio or in the club, but it was widely known FAST that Vanilla Ice was white and people were cool with it.
He was widely accepted because the song was dope so there was no issue. He even had a second single and the album did well.
The problem for him came when people found out that his background didn’t checkout and people found out that he was faking. That was well after “Ice Ice Baby” and his album came out.

Did you do the school dances and park jams? Did you do the battles and corner ciphers? What's your MC reputation in your area?

After the rise of gangsta rap and vanilla ice...I say him becuz after his ONE hit blew up all he talked about was some criminal past and hanging with gangbangers..his press package stressed all this criminal behavior bullshit and couple that with NWA and other rappers talking about life in the "hood" as if its some kind of safari trip and suddenly street cred became how many times you've been arrested? How many people have you robbed? how much drugs have you sold? What gang are you affiliated with?
Note NONE of those questions talks about any rap or MC skills at all.
