In general, on a balance of probability, the father is usually the better parent

When I first read this I was thrown off and immediately disagreed

But then I thought about it...

I don't think it's an issue of attracting Black women, because a dude who is seemingly similar to MKBHD, Judner Aura, (uravgconsumer) has a beautiful Black wife and a beautiful family and both of them are into Gundams, pokemon cards, and all of the things we would generally associate with nerds.

I think it becomes an issue of having Black nerds being able to find and interact with each other. I think sometimes the community can be a bit harsh on them and they start drifting away from the community and ending up in interracial relationships that they didn't exactly set out to be in and then they start dealing the bullshit that goes along with that and it's just a spider-web if issues across the board.

Recently there was a Twitter tag about Black nerds or Alt Blacks talking about negative experiences at HBCUs and it drew a somewhat mixed response on both sides.

Got a link to this thread??

Niggas like this will kill BGOL faster than anything else because these niggas do NOT read and are looking to make a punch line reply. BGOL has become Live2Hustle with the dumb shit.

The issue is really not about nerds. The original issue goes back to Black women and their choices. Read my reply at post #1,933 where I detail that this thought was spurred on by something Black women said on a Black woman's forum, in which Black women openly admitted to possibly missing out on a guy because he was perceived to be nerdy/nice/lame/different.

(Now I wait for the stupid ass reply)

You say it goes back to "Black women and their choices." But, in part, it needs to be acknowledged that Black general POPULAR CULTURE doesn't respect Black "nerds". How many Black men respect Black "nerds".......or even so-called "squares"? Look at the vitriol that Russell Wilson has received from other Black men. Look at the "Colin" response to any article posted deem to long or academic on here.

If indeed this is a major issue, it permeates our CULTURE, not just our women.

Everything you said is 100% true but it becomes a sticky topic to talk about because if you bring these things, immature people flip it and start roasting you and calling you a lame, incel, red pill, or whatever and as I stated previously this whole thing was spurred by me being on Lipstickalley and seeing women openly say "So & So is with a white/asian/hispanic woman because maybe Black women weren't checking for him when he was younger because he was perceived to be a nerd/lame/alt-black or whatever" and also from hearing more and more of the women on that site talk about avoiding fuckboys and making better decisions with their youth/child bearing years and I wanted to try to bring that discussion here to BGOL.

Mike Tyson is one of the most overrated boxers and was not mentally tough as a competitor.

Mike dominated inferior competition, but he either got got KOed or DQed in every challenging fight that he had. The greats had multiple fights where they came back from tough rounds.

This is a difficult topic where I think as usual with modern society - sadly they are exercising revisionist victimization

Also trying to defend and rationalize and justify every current personal decision with some alleged past trauma.

We love that that nerd sh*t from day one. We can even go to Wu Tang and even further back...

Black folk LOVE and CREATED and POPULARIZED what many white folk considered "nerd" culture now and then.

Go watch revenge of the nerds to see my point in live action context

Poor black kids loved TV, cartoons, anime and comics and superheros WAY WAY before its acceptable now.

Yes Carlton and Urkel existed...

But their issues were they were labeled "white" or weird or awkward. It was more about dressing bad not being cool not being able to dance.

But in the end those 2 became the stars.

Because in actuality we IDENTIFIED WITH THEM MORE.

Same with Dwayne Wayne etc.

People got bullied white and black.

For a bunch of dumb reasons

They height, weight, hair, acne, skin color.

Like I said it's complicated because EVERY hood is the same but different.

Native Tongues were kinda nerd hippy at one point. Backpack rap. Skater rap. Super lyrical rap. So we make everything cool.

People need to stop trying to generalize everything. There are commonalities and differences in everything just embrace that sh*t.

These folk a trip... Not being asked to the prom ain't the reason you want to be asexual now.

What! Mike was outsized by damn near everyone he fought!!

Need to have this argument in a separate thread but I think there's already one.

I KINDA agree with this one...Mike definitely had more trouble with taller fighters who knew how to use their jab..his kungfu was finally broken with buster douglas for that very reason. BUT he fought everyone they put in front of him..I certainly don't remember Mike ducking anyone.

I have never been a Kobe Bryant fan. I'm saddened that he and others died in a tragic accident. However I always consider him as a Ballhog, a snitch, and a rapist.

It’s unpopular, but logical. Being outsized for the weight class is a bad excuse. He should have went down a weight class. Every tough fight, Mike’s reaction was to quit by getting DQed or he got KOed.

"The victim has informed us, after much of her own labored deliberation, that she does not want to proceed with this trial," Mr. Hurlbert said. "For this reason, and this reason only, the case is being dismissed."
The dissolution of the criminal trial, which veered from melodrama to farce and back during preliminary hearings, was not entirely unexpected. Legal scholars who have closely followed it say the prosecutor's case had been steadily weakening in the last month after rulings by Judge W. Terry Ruckriegle, the accidental release of sealed information about Mr. Bryant's accuser and, not least, the woman's own decision in early August to sue Mr. Bryant in civil court.

The civil suit was a particularly devastating blow to the prosecution because it would have allowed Mr. Bryant's lawyers to portray the woman, whose name has not been officially released, as driven by greed, not a quest for justice.

I don’t support all the extra respect for veterans. All these thanking them for their service and giving them free stuff. Fuck it, they got paid for serving and it was voluntary.

I'm big enough to admit I am wrong. Thanks for the article. He is not a rapist.

Men cook better than women. Yeah I said it

I have no idea who in the hell would dispute this.

We have countless 5 star restaurants, schools, books and TV shows that support that.

The question is how why and when did cooking and cleaning become identified as women's work?

Cause the WOMEN AND MEN that raised me?

instilled early I better know how to cook clean and wash for myself.

The black community in America would benefit greatly from something radical in the form of arranged marriages. The caveat is that both women & men should not have kids from prior relationships.

We do have this in a quasi sense - people from church hooking up other church folk; my circle of friends hook me up with their circle of friends; frat brothers know these set of shorties, etc. So some form of vetting is in place, but it is just not formal. Once out of college and I would say mid-20's, then those layers of vetting disappear and peeps are more or less on their own as far as finding a mate. Dudes want to bang as much as possible and chicks want a bad boy until it's time to settle down.

I do agree with you, but the cat is already out of the bag. Can we put the genie back into the bottle?

We really need to end this myth that black men don't have emotions.

That we don't cry or feel.

That we are heartless.

That we can't be loyal to a single woman.

That we don't need or want brotherhood.

That we never have suicidal thoughts.

That we don't therapy or someone to talk to.
STOP ALL THAT BITCHASS TALKING AND SUCK IT UP!! MAN THE FUCK UP!!

Not an unpopular opinion just setting things straight.

If you're always the leading scorer on every team that you play for and your ppg average is 3 points less than Michael Jordan...

Then you're a scorer.

Lebron James is a scorer.

I don't get your point.

The earliest recordings we have our women at the hearth.

Owning a restaurant doesn't mean your a chef.

I took what he was saying as more that the belief of women in the kitchen, women cooking... as the best food.

Doesn't hold up in his experience.

And I was supporting his point that in many cultures if you are REALLY looking it's the men that cook and do a damn good job.

And I've heard this from many women.
