No. I got what you meant. I'd been saying myself that typed words are not the same as hearing and seeing him say them. He slapped Chris directly, not virtually or verbally (well the verbal slap came after the actual). I think he should apologize just as directly. What I was saying in my previous post was that direct apology should have been given BEFORE he quit the Academy and before the Academy penalized him. This, considering that he apologized to everyone else at the Oscars during his acceptance speech, except Chris. Doing it now almost doesn't seem as sincere. Now it would come off more like he's sorry for all the bad press, social media beatdown and being penalized by the Academy.

I understand what you're saying about Oprah. I'd thought about that too in terms of having Will and Chris meet. I just don't like that cow and hate giving her opportunities for ratings. Besides that, who's to say either Chris or Will would be down to participate. It still would not be bad optics for the mainstream audience, sure.

I'd rather see him connect with independent Black media and apologize to Chris from there if he's gonna do it. Establish a relationship with them. Black folks got things started for him. Be nice to see him come home.

He needs to repair his image. All this shit that's happened comes off as rich celebrity entitlement on his part. His thinking he can walk onstage and slap people and then walk back up to receive an Oscar and double down on rationalizing that bullshit in his acceptance speech while in the same speech hypocritically "apologizing" for what he spent the last few minutes justifying, his acting like his woman is somehow so much more special than any other celebrity and can't be joked about and lastly (if true) his meeting privately with a couple members of the Academy to try to clear shit up, instead of waiting for the scheduled meeting of all 18 members to decide his case. Lastly, it was a bad look for him to apologize with some words typed on social media. I would add that "Oscars So White" bullshit in 2016 that Jada concocted just because her husband wasn't nominated was self-serving and entitled as hell.

I suggested that he actually do some hands on ongoing humanitarian/social justice work to shed that entitled image that he's cultivated. It's not about being fake. Doing work like that grows you. It connects you more deeply with humanity and makes you see how you can make a difference...and yes, it's excellent optics.
I agree with almost everything you said but oprah is global and what Will did went global..also as much as you can't stand her she IS black so its still "in house" as far as looking for a resolution FUBU..

But maybe just NOT Orpah alone... a black man should probably be there as a mentoring entity like MAYBE a TD JAKES or maybe Denzel since he made himself a part of the initial incident and he's a well respected elder statesmen in their profession so he can understand the kinds of pressure both Will and Chris are under as black men in Hollyweird...but its GOTTA be a black male there not Iyanla Vanzant tho she may be qualified as some sort of life coach she's not a BLACK MAN and they both need that positive male energy for some guiding force. Oprah provides the biggest platform and she can be a part of the conversation (a black woman was the reason for all of this) but a black man has to be the moderator between the two.

Can or should Jada be there? NO...her presence alone would be too much of a distraction and pull focus away from what happened between Will and Chris.

And again Will needs to acknowledge what he did and how he hurt and embarrassed Chris for just doing his job. (some tears would help) and they DEFINITELY need to hug it out. Again ALL OF THIS depends on how Chris feels and if I were dude...I wouldn't show up for nothing less than an outright public apology and acknowledgement of wrong doing.

The academy did Will Smith a favor.

They asked him to hit somebody. He did their bidding. Now he doesn't have to wear a tux for the next decade. He also gets out of his shitty movie contracts and gets to do Tom Hanks level stuff.

All he has to do is wait for another celebrity to do something that looks equally stupid so that everyone will forget.

To be honest...they don't need each other. She got her own money and so does Will. they're not like normal people where you have to seriously weigh divorce as an option. Kids are grown and don't need either parents. Will needs to reset his life clock. I can almost guarantee that Hollywood also sees Jada as the evil queen. If he divorces her, he'll be let back in good grace in a matter of a few years. He needs to let her go

He cheated on her with jada.. so will had some shit with him himself. You guys are delusional to think he's some kind of innocent virgin in all of this.
Why are you fighting so hard to paint Will as the villain to protect Jada, bro? He fucked up slapping Chris, but to say Jada had nothing to do with the outcome is completely ignorant.

I'll go back to watching from the sidelines but this one is clearly a pebble in your shoe.. and that male feminist shit is mad corny to me.

1. Dude its NOT a binary choice everyone is guilty in fucked up situations. Will married her...broke up with her then CAME back...he made his decision.

2. What makes you think that relationship is one sided?? What makes you give him the benefit of the doubt in regards to the trouble in their marriage...whats the doubt? She admitted to a fuck up but just because he didn't doesn't mean he doesn't have any. We dont know how Will is in relationships.

3. He went overboard in defending his wife. He wrote in bio that he felt like a coward for not defending his mother when his father attacked her.

A powerful and tragic insight is provided by a searing passage in his memoir, Will, published last year. In talking about his complicated relationship with his father, an Air Force veteran and alcoholic who died in 2016, Will revealed an obviously traumatizing episode of his childhood. He described how, as a 9-year-old child, he witnessed a terrible episode of domestic violence:

“I watched my father punch my mother in the side of the head so hard that she collapsed…I saw her spit blood. That moment in the bedroom, probably more than any other moment in my life, has defined who I am.”

Will Smith went on to explain:

“Within everything that I have done since then — the awards and the accolades, the spotlights and attention, the characters and the laughs — there has been a subtle string of apologies to my mother for my inaction that day. For failing her in that moment. For failing to stand up to my father. For being a coward.

He saw his wife hurt in the moment and decided to do something about it rather than have another shoulda coulda woulda... The trigger wasn't the joke it was his wife's reaction. She was not amused and looked like :rolleyes2: :smh: and in that moment he may have felt like heres another woman he loves hurt and he should DO something about that. No one is excusing it... but cats on social media find it easier to believe that a cuckolded Will Smith was manipulated by an evil Jada Pinkett...but the idea that Will watching yet ANOTHER woman he loves be hurt by a man (in this case in public fashion) and he's again standing by watching helplessly.....well not THIS time.

Was what he did excessive? YES..... but clearly he felt the need to DO something.

that's not a possibility???

4. and I'm not a male feminist... I'm a FAIRPLAYIST.... A man cheats on his wife and its the her fault and failing somehow.....A woman cheats on her husband and its her fault and failing somehow... :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: :rolleyes2: thats mad corny to me.

Those were my thoughts as well...#3, particularly.

The general public had some looks into the Smiths personal lives via interviews, Will's book and Red Table talk. We've been given more insight than the average celebrity tends to give. But these are camera-friendly representations of themselves- even the controversial shit. That's what celebs do, display a camera-friendly version, We don't really see the dirt and the grime, nuances and fine detail. We don't live with them. So all we can do is speculate. They're humans. Neither one is perfect. IF there's been a pattern of her being been less than respectful to him, then he's to blame for accepting it and not checking her ass.

But damn. One minute Jada's the evil CIA activating Manchurian candidate Will with a MK-Ultra encoded eyeroll. The next minute, she's supposedly thrown him under the bus because she said his slapping Chris Rock was wrong, even though Will already previously said so too himself and apologized for it twice. So then, if she had instead said his slapping Chris was justified, that would have contradicted his public apologies and folks would've rightfully crucified her for that immature shit too. She can't win.

I didn't agree with what Smith did but this dude can kick rocks with that suggestion! Weinstein, Woody Allen, Polanski, etc, etc. Why don't he talk about them returning their shits?

Co-sign

What's even more troubling you had actors co-sign Woody Allen's relationship and people blaming Polanski's victim even though she was a teenager at the time.I can't forget, how the both of them received a standing ovation..

honestly have you ever seen black social media or bgol ever back or side with a black women in an issue that didn't involve overt racism or egregious police brutality???

BUT a 40 year old MILF basically doing the same thing to a 22 year old GROWN ASS MAN...is just evidence of an evil woman:pain::pain::pain::devil::devil::devil:

and the funny part is dudes talk this shit with a straight face and be dead serious about their "disgust" with Jada... Meanwhile its rumored that Will was most likely fucking Margot Robbie probably around the same time august was bangin Jada

How Did the Affair Rumor Start?
The affair rumors first started during the filming of “Focus,” back in 2013. Insiders claimed the two became cozy on set with each other — even going so far as to miss the wrap party in favor of hanging out together in Will’s trailer.

When the American superhero film “Suicide Squad” was released in 2016, the rumors started flying again. People noticed the intense chemistry between them, which fans seemed to pick up on during the film.

This, of course, got the affair rumors going again, as fans analyzed the films and the interactions between the actors.

Regardless of Margot’s vehement denial, Will Smith has never commented on the affair rumors. It recently came to light that his wife Jada had had an affair, but the married couple is now back together, claiming unconditional love.

Back when they were filming in 2013 and where the affair rumors first started, Margot was 23 and Will was 45.

Show a picture between jada and August that screams their fucking? No one suspected a thing between them or cared if there was one until she admitted it on her own talk show.

Now everyone wants to act like it was soo obvious. In fact everyone was good with the rumor they were in a open relationship and assumed will was having a good old time scoring all kinds of pussy (remember when there was speculation he was bi too?) Now Wills a victim in an abusive relationship and never done nothing to contribute to his own situation?

I'm not saying Jada's never done anything wrong hell if anything she keeps copping to it no matter how much thier fans keep screaming SHUT UP!...I'm saying Wills not the victim yall seem to want him to be.
