All well said, except for one thing: the Asian and alphabet people that were offended and protested didn't find the jokes funny at first.

Will respect his wife more than he does himself.
Next year: Oscars packing heat.
thats bullcrap period because chris didnt say anything bad and if she really have that how the heck is chris suppose to know i mean i seen men and woman with that and jada i will bet $1 million dollars she dont have that.no from now on ALL comedians will be afraid to do there craft..everyone will change there whole routine on there work.many more people will copy that fool will and land it on i was defending myself or my family.just sad we live in this soft world!!!! i was watching old in living color and mad tv shows and back then you could be yourself and say fat jokes or gay jokes or jokes period and 98% of the things done on those shows you cant do today which is sad.not for the fat ,gay jokes just we cant just be us due to this soft and edited world we in now.I say this shit all the time. Everybody knows that there is a lane you don't go into when you fucking with people who can whoop your motherfuking ass
That's not to say bitch up, but don't do that habitual line stepping shit
Chris Rock is a lifelong habitual line stepper. Might as well say he's got a doctorate in that shit. Add to it he from Brooklyn oh, that just makes it worse
If I'm arguing with Mike Tyson oh, I'm not going to bitch up, but I'm not going to step across that imaginary line. If I go out on a branch and say, "That's why your mother is a bitch and she died to get away from you"
I step across that imaginary line and if Mike Tyson decides to whoop my ass I deserve it
The line is more faint when you're dealing with someone who is an equal. You can jump bad with an equal because y'all are on equal footing, but somebody who can whoop your ass you have to tread at least a little lightly
I say it again, I'm not saying Will Smith should have done it, but I understand
FACTSWill Smith laughed at the joke. He wasn't offended by it. His wife told him "go fetch boy" and he complied.
this guy is on my page ..thank you brother..In a desperate move to save the dying rating Oscars.. We have a scene to boost ratings... 2 actors of coarse... One who looked as if he should have actually used black gloves an asked Chris rock... Sir .. You are Pompous and have offended me Lady's Honor... "I Challenge you to a Duel of sorts"
Everyone keeps saying that, but I've only seen a clip. I need the full context, because I was under the impression that Chris told a joke before that Will was laughing at.All well said, except for one thing: the Asian and alphabet people that were offended and protested didn't find the jokes funny at first.
This is how people end up in prison. Thinking violence is an equal and adequate response to words. Will's action yet deplorable was IMO justified
Most of the female students in my class think it was honorable what Will done. Then the discussion went into a man defending their woman in situations.
Most the of male students said it was a joke that wasn’t even that bad. Which I thought it was interesting too.
After all my classes ended, I concluded that people are nuts. That night, people saw what they saw and made whatever justification about it in a very personal way. All I heard was, what was right or wrong about what Will did or what Chris said.
I told my female students, his wife has done worse to Will than what Chris said about her. So that’s that. But however one rationalizes their thoughts ain’t even my business. Regardless, it happened and I’m glad it did.

French or foreign, the Legion allows you to be forgotten and helps you channel your energy into a profession of honor and commitment. You'll have to translate for us bruh....![]()
That was a tame joke. He really should have said GI Joe.“Jada, I love you. J.I Jane 2, can’t wait to see it.”
Ok that is exactly how I thought that would play out.
Makes sense from a sociological view point
We are at time when the narrative continues to be Black men don't support their women.
As insane as what Will Smith did?
Any and all arguments made to the contrary will be seen as anti black woman
Period.
It is a perfect reflection of modern society and culture.
It's pure projection - no one listens or truly cares.
They don't care about those folk as actual human beings.
They are avatars. People fantasizing what THEY THEMSELVES would or wouldn't have done.
When truth be told, they WOULD NEVER understand bring world famous millionaires fighting at the Oscar's.
But they DO understand hurt feelings, cheating, being embarrassed, betrayed, humiliated, emasculated, throwing a fit and making dumb rash decisions.
This wasn't logical
This was all emotion and ego
Trying to make sense of it is futile.
Will can't Chris can't Jada can't
@woodchuck as old married men of course we seeing these like 3D chess.
But agree Will was in a tight spot and if Chris was any kind of friend he would not have put him there. Your friends KNOW your situation. Especially when you have "that kind if spouse". Especially when Chris did a whole stand up about his own failed marriage. That's why he took the slap. He knew. Cause all married men knew. I gotta go home with this b*tch bro wtf you doing to me in front outside folk?
But Will is so damn wrong on every level and it's dangerous for folk to try to justify it.
The only positive from this is I think it's gonna be a touchstone for reducing the trolling culture. The free speech no repercussions culture.
All these wannabe DL, Friar Club, sports hot takes, Skip Bayliss SAS name calling, etc etc
A good slap gonna regulate
That is why SAS was passing his pants after all that tough talk on Bomani show seeing that slap.
These jokes ain't free.
And they never have been.
G.I. Jane was a movie where...............nvr mindThat was a tame joke. He really should have said GI Joe.
That was a tame joke. He really should have said GI Joe.
I guess at least maybe that will lead to a positive

^^^^
Not to get too deep but I mentioned this earlier...
Will is HURT.
The only positive I get from this fuckery is the world seeing that Black men are not animals we are human we have emotions and breaking points
Again no justification of Will.
But SPECIFICALLY us witnessing what Will been going through with his wife cheating saying she needed to feel loved then her medical condition felling ugly your kids switching genders every week etc etc etc
Will is human and way too often the world sees as not.
We are commended celebrated and expected to take all abuse.
Denzel getting whipped but only one single tear, Jackie Robinson showered with the worst of the worst language in a stadium filled with white devils NOT REACTING.
Again no excuses
Especially Will doing this to a brother. Which I hate.
But the world seeing us EXPLODE.
And (as the world is twisting it) Will defending a black woman's honor.
I guess at least maybe that will lead to a positive
^^^ The most homoaggressive post in BGOL history
Will is a broken man. If you listen to his speech that is pain and trauma overflowing.
But as Black men we don't allow each other to be hurt.
"I don't love no bitch"
"I don't give a fuck about anything or any body"
The muthafucka just snapped.
Totally agree. After all of the shit they've been through in the past couple of years (Their doing), this was just the point where Jada made Will hit them streets and do her bidding. This was all Jada, because Will didn't find anything offensive about this. Your first reaction is your truest reaction, and what was Will's first reaction? I'm hearing all of these people talking about Will being right, because they've been taking a public beating lately. Well, Jada was wearing the boxing gloves giving themselves that beating. What really fascinates me is how people turned that into so many other things.
I’ve been watching Rock for most of his career. That joke was very tame, but it got him slapped that night.
Which honestly, I don’t even think it was about Rock.
Like that chick that called her cousin to come handle some dudes she was beefing with. Her cousin drove right into an ass whooping that went viral. And how people end up dead. Where I come from people get shot over a bitch every weekend over nothing.
Howard Stern has some fucked up logic, he compares Will Smith to Donald Trump....
Somebody should've asked him to blink twice if he's in danger. Will is a broken man. If you listen to his speech that is pain and trauma overflowing.
But as Black men we don't allow each other to be hurt.

Lots of tough talk but when we set the exact time and spot and I put it on IG live, I bet you prove to be less present than security at the Oscars.
And that’s what I reminded my female students of that justified Will’s reaction.
Some seemingly wasn’t connecting the level of emasculation and embarrassment Will has been enduring because Jada KNOWS Will doesn’t believe in divorce. She’s taken advantage of that.
Her health is a deflection to all the precursors that led to that moment. The internet made that joke about her health or her hair or whatever else.
But when you analyze any person’s breaking point, most (if not all) psychologist/investigators look at the things that lead to that moment. And we all know that didn’t have shit to do with Rock.
Rock was jus the fall guy.
Reminds me of my stepmother. She was too spineless to defend herself against the cacs that were giving her grief at the gig, so she came home and took that shit out on us.But when you analyze any person’s breaking point, most (if not all) psychologist/investigators look at the things that lead to that moment.
