Would you pay $900,000 for this 14K Square Foot Mansion in Lithonia, GA?

Exactly. The style is classic Victorian, which is very common going back to the early 90's. In 2020, the current popular style is a more neo mid-century modern style. It's not about size, it's about quality and efficiency.

If you want the cutting edge of what's trending these days, here's an example:

I'll take this 4500 Sq feet over the 14K Sq foot house ANY DAY. And because of the location, it's worth 2x as much.

Beautiful home and exactly the type of thing that appeals to me

I get it. I mean, just look at this. North Atlanta High School... in the district where that house was posted. Mind you, this is a HIGH SCHOOL. There are college campuses that couldn't compare.

Makes sense...schools are funded through property taxes....

You have an area of nice expensive well maintained homes....you SHOULD have schools like these

I’m not really aware of how them shits work to be honest. I know one place in buckhead I was looking at give me a foul impression because I ask them questions about what the benefits of a HOA are at the time. It wasn’t about me not having enough money to pay it but I legitimately had questions and I got the nigga treatment like if you gotta ask you don’t belong here
HOA is usually just supposed to be for the neighborhood amenities like trash removal, community pool upkeep, landscaping in the common areas of the neighborhood, shit like that. They can also come up with, and enforce code. Say if you want to build a fence around your backyard or pool. You cant just build it, you have to approval from the HOA first. Or say you want to paint the house, the HOA has to approve the color. Man it's all kinds of shit, I could keep going...but they long story short is, they can levy fines against your home for violations. If you dont pay the fines, the HOA can take your home.

Crime stats are actually way better in Lithonia now from the 2019 numbers. The city got an A- on areavibes as far the crime rate. The schools are still way behind though.

The schools still have low ratings. But with Stonecrest becoming a city now there might be a priority to improve the schools. I know the mayor mentioned they were trying to improve them.
I'll believe it when I see it. Nothing good school wise has been done in Dekalb County since they nearly lost their accreditation outside of Dunwoody.

That's surprising to me because this white woman I know swears by Dekalb County Schools.....She might just by lying though.

I'm house hunting and won't consider the East side.

I'm priced out of North Atlanta right now

South and West got some good houses and deals, just gotta accept that's what I can afford right now.
