Would you pay $900,000 for this 14K Square Foot Mansion in Lithonia, GA?

This, I was about to say the same thing. If a person has the money $900k Is a steal. I live right next to that house. That area use to be high end but after Hurricane Katrina they allowed section 8 homes in the surrounding area.

Then you have niggas who can’t do simple yard work or keep their house pressure washed once a year

Section 8 in an area like that... I did ask earlier what was wrong with the place.

This is pretty good. The mayor seems like a good dude.

He said they're moving the East Dekalb County Precinct INSIDE the mall in the Sears building.

And you know what speaking of Lithonia, how the fuck did they just let the violence run the area down like that? I mean when they first started building in that area I was thinking it was going to be along the lines of what part of PG County are to DC. The mall was nice, new streets, lit up street signs at night... it was nice as fuck. Now it's just... Decatur part 2 lol. And that's not including the city of Decatur or north Decatur either. They basically went the same route Clayton County did after Eastern Airlines left and the projects in the city shutdown. Don't get why it always has to be like that for the black areas. That area near stonecrest was developed way too nicely to be what it is. I remember a few years back when they banned teenagers from the mall without an adult because it was so out of control. SMH

I can tell y’all stories for days about lithonia trust me my guy that house ain’t worth the trouble. Little fuckheads n the neighborhood next door stay breaking in them shits. Lithonia seems to specialize in B and E’s it’s usually all the lil high schoolers with nothing to do. I lived there back when stone crest had white folks who use to come out there and jog on the weekends now stonecrest is like the O.K coral.... like one of the posters said above why the fuck do we destroy our own shit!!!!!! I also thought Lithonia would become like a upscale suburb for my people but man that shit just raggedy now. If y’all familiar with the area I use to stay in manor wood apt behind Walmart off panola. Then once I got settled in with a better job I moved to the brand new apartments (at the time) across from Publix right next to Bank of America.

And another weird thing is how many Walmart’s y’all fucking need in one area. It’s one on panola and Covington then the one off panola exit take a few exits down to stonecrest mall it’s another one go down a few more exits it’s another fucking Walmart!!!!!

Another metro Atlanta area that started with an influx of "new money niggas" then their kids drove the neighborhood into the ground. It's why the school is rated a 3 out of 10. Thats a huge factor driving pricing. Lithonia, Campbelton Rd, Thornton Rd. etc. They all started out with the best intentions...

Isnt lithonia the hood?

shouldn't be, but as the saying goes, you can take a nigga out the hood, but you can't take the hood out a nigga.

The problem is, niggas ARE the hood. The hood goes where niggas go. Wherever we are allowed to populate and attempt to build something great, it attracts hood niggas because of the presence of a majority black faces. They won't go to the white parts of town and clown. But when they get around Black people it's to time showoff and stunt on each other.

A family member moved there about 2000 paid 100k for a brand new town house in a new subdivision... no money down $700 mortgage.as time goes by they Couldn't find steady work and had to relocate back to ny with family. While the house was there vacant they steal the central air unit from outside and right now the property hasn't appreciated much in value since purchase

Some of the comments in here exhibit a nigga mentality. "Critical, no vision, backward thinking, negative, only seeing the problems" type of thinking.
Niggas in here judging this house like they do women that get posted on the board. Talking bout they wouldnt fuck with it, knowing good and well they currently couldn't. I'm still trying to figure out why some are calling this house dated? Like it's interior design is from the 70s or something. Someone please show me what the interior of an up to date house should look like please.

a house that size is for a man that hardly is home but houses his family and boys. no appeal for a couple or bachelor. the area is terrible and needs renovations and i assume the hoa tends the grass. no thanks.

This happened to my homegirl at work. 10 years ago she brought a new home for about 150k Now her subdivision has a lot of crime and young ninjas hanging out.

I tried to tell ya earlier in the thread lol. That's what I was talking about when I said you turn one wrong corner and you're dead in the middle of the hood. Cascade is probably the nicest black area in the metro and it's the same way over there. It's nice.. but you definitely have to know you're still in the SWATS.

To be fair to Lithonia, IF the City of Stonecrest gets their own school district AND increase property taxes to fund it (dont get something for nothin') AND parents get involved in the schools, that city can come up.

they need to showcase the house empty or just pay to have it staged. its not practical for me so pass. would use that 900k for something smaller in a different neighborhood.

So you'd pay 800k for a 3000 square foot house that looks even more "dated" than the 14ksq ft one you claim is dated...and is only 100k more?
Ok, we're done talking here.
Sigh, this is why you cant talk to people without comprehension skills.
You asked what an UPDATED INTERIOR looks like . Where did i ever say i would buy this house?

This is an idea of what MODERN INTERIOR looks like. That other house is just big, there is nothing fashionable about the inside of it. Just big with no life to it
Where did i say anything about i would purchase the house?

It’s not that they won’t it’s the fact they get priced out. White folks ain’t having that shit and to keep us out they keep prices high.

This man knows what he's talking about. It takes about three waves of black folk moving to certain areas to fuck it up. It's a gottdamn shame some folk just can't straighten up.

First come the pioneers (black folk with some money moving into non black areas).
Then comes the second wave (mostly black folk who aren’t as well off as the first group but are in good standing)
Third wave are the family members, friends, and associates of mostly the second wave who aren’t as in good standing. Welp...it was a good run but it's going down hill now.

No, you tried to make me sound stupid like you didn't say what you said. Not my fault you changed your mind :dunno:
You meant what you said, stand on it. I can't knock your preference though. We have a difference in opinion, and it aint that serious.
My whole argument was people acting like this was some old ass house. I bought a house in 2012 that has a very similar look on the inside. Was built in 2005. Now it's only 3800 square feet, but looks very similar on inside. Not an old look in my opinion. Many houses built from 2000 and up look like this on the inside. How is that dated?

Here is a brand new house in ATL. How much more different does it look on the inside than the one we are discussing?
