 at times it’s definitely easier

I know me and after I blew an entire paycheck buying drywall cause my dumbass is measuring FCUKED UP, I'd look back and be like: 'You should have just had someone come through and do this shyt for you.

I feel you. My AMEX tells the same story and my shit still ain't done. I had a great plan in my mind and it was coming along, but I just don't feel like doing it anymore. :hithead:

Handy to an extent! Landscaping I am all over it. Electrical sure. Plumbing no doubt. But the minute I gotta cut and hang drywall, FCUK OUTTA HERE!!! And that was all my granddad did for Detroit Public Schools so you'd think it be in my blood! Nope, I HATE that shyt!

My granddaddy was a carpenter and did work all over town. When I would go down south for the summer, I would be with him all the time. Hell, I remember, that I was on a roof with him during a job and I was probably 10 at the time. That shit should be in me too, but I gotta thank COVID-19 and YouTube for the skills I do have.

I'll start doing that, telling other people to do it and come to find out it's bullshyt!! ;)
It is?
I'd think it makes sense but think you should use the top edge of the ruler not the bottom. So it's an exact diagonal.

I'm gonna test it in my garage on some spare pieces. Think it would work in theory so will see

Nah I read thru the comments

One dude said 4" is incorrect, but he's stupid.
Its not at the 4" mark when the tape measure is straight. So he's a clown.

I wanna show it to my dad. He's been building stuff forever. Taught me a lot.

I'm about to build a pair of these from Ana

Edit: Showed it to my dad, he said that's old
He saw it on 'Ask This Old House' many years ago. He's done it for years.

Needed this video 2 years ago when I cut the wire too short when replacing the thermostat.

Because the base plate of the new thermostat was about 4 inches I cut a notch in the wall to get the short wire to reach.

Little bit of a brag post. Wanted to build a new computer desk for my son, so saw something simple on Ana White and just looked at this and followed what it looked like but built it out differently. Wood cost was about $40. I used pocket holes and used black stain with poly, not paint. It's 2x8's and 2x4's

Nice!!!

I built some outdoor chairs out of 2x4s during the spring.

I plan to rebuild them again, make some changes/modification because don't like how they looked after staining.

Wish I could use cedar wood, but too damn expensive these days

Props brother…

I been meaning to do some updates in here…

I’m say this…. Some people prices don’t reflect the work some of these jobs require…

Was gonna build some too, was pricing outdoor cushions and was like whoa.
Ended up not building, wife's mom gave us two sets of metal chairs, but had to buy the cushions. They not cheap if you didn't find out already.

I was going to do these chairs and connect them with a table/cup holder, in between

And for that reason I'm always on Craigslist searching for deals on stuff cheaper than I can buy new or build.
