I know a lady who was in the process of buying a home. The realtor said they had a region zoom meeting and the region manager stressed to them, when possible encourage people to away from building homes right now, because the price of lumber is outrageous. I don’t know if that was genuine or not but I do know that shit is high.

Yeh. Was thinking about doing a floating deck in the backyard and the lumber is 3 times it was couple years ago.

We thinking about a ground level patio instead.

As a homeowner I try to do as much as I can by myself. I just did some Landscaping on my property by putting down rubber mulch. Rubber mulch holds his color for 12 years versus 1-3 years for regular mulch

I got quotes for everything between $1200 and $2,000

I went to Walmart and loaded up my car. The first time I got 50 bags and the guy miscounted and only charged me for 22

Then I used the stupidity of Walmart against them. I needed more so I went back a second time , paid for 20 but took 40 because they didn't send anybody back there with me. And all I paid about $600. I have 6 bags I'm about to take back to Walmart to get my $36 back :giggle:

I got some mulch guard for the edges, this look really makes the Oleander bushes I bought stand out

Floating shelves

dammit I fucked up. My wife was going to get me the ryobi 6 combo kit, but i told her nah, cuz i already had the drills and batteries. i didn't see myself setting up a bench for the saws. But watching dude use the multi-tool i remembered i have to run some cables in the wall and that would be great.

I hear you on that. I was talking to my dad a few weeks back, and a friend of his was planning on some DIY projects in the yard this summer. He asked me to guesstimate some prices / quotes on lumber required. I was way off. Like you said, x3 ...

Nice. I was helping my dad with yardwork on Father's Day. Got out there before the heat of the day. Weeding near the boulevard and making a half-circle rockery with mid-sized boulders. Going to plant some small trees and shrubs in the area soon. Thankfully it was shady for 3/4 of the time that morning. We're getting the heatwave this weekend now. Everyone's laying low.

I have a riding mower and it's just a Craftsman so it's not really good. But, I don't care about all that. While I am cutting the grass I have on my Zune, yes a Zune, full of 30 GB of music from Bob Seger to Marvin Gaye to Jodeci to John Mayer to Adele tu o Lionel Richie to Brother Lynch Hung and so on. And I'm singing the entire time

Funny thing was I was cutting a few weeks ago and I went straight from John Denver to Trick Daddy Shut up. One of my neighbors busted out laughing at the contrast

The Zune! I remember hitting up a Best Buy with a friend of mine, and he selected one for a family member's bday gift.

On a funny side note (early-2000s) ...I won an Mp3 player in a contest. Forget the brand name. It held approx. 32 - 40mb. Believe I had a rotation of 8 songs on it ... played that one walking to and from streetball ... back in the Kazaa or Bearshare days!

The same lady that gave me info about the car shortage just recently purchased a home. The lady said that shit was so stressful because damn near every decent to good house had offers. I know they was looking for 3 months, now how long before I started knowing her idk.
All about location right now, my daughter and her husband found a nice gem of a home the price was low all because of A Dog Spa(Cac Shit) across the street 3Bdr 11/2 bth deck and large back yard house only 4yrs old for $90k. They got it May of last year.
