If Melly doesn't have an iron-clad alibi he is toast because, with so much evidence of evidence tampering and lying, by the driver, they had more than enough time to toss the gun in some swamp. It would be different if Melly was caught right away without having time to destroy evidence, and them not finding a gun. At the end of the day, it's going to come down to finding someone who was sitting in the backseat where the shots and spent casing were found, and accountability to where Melly was during the murders.
Bortlen lying saying that there were only three people in the car only for a video of Melly also being in the car, along with the fact that they found a spent shell case from the murder weapon, as well as bullet trajectory angles proving that the fatal shots were fired from the seat where Melly was seen getting into, are going to have to be explained before he thinks of having a shot at walking. And the fact that his lawyer is desperately trying to dismiss everything on technicalities, shows that they are grasping for straws trying to convince the jury that everyone involved in the case are incompetent rather than producing evidence of his innocence.
A man declaring a mistrial after day three is like flat earthers claiming every picture of space is CGI and everyone who has flown a plane or ship around the world is a liar!
