The main issue with Carter wasn't the car accident it was his college coaches not vouching for him because of bad practice habits and him coasting from time to time. He's on the perfect team where he's being held accountable by a bunch of college friends and accomplished vets. As a defensive coach I need Eberflus to use his knowledge to help reverse engineer some shit. He should have some idea of what defenses are going to do against us and how to better counteract that stuff. Chris Jones should not be getting 1 on 1's against rookies and backups on passing downs.
Eberflus isn't qualified to he be a head coach. Qualifications are always an issue for black guys, rarely for white guys.
Not going argue this but he's going to be here until the end of the season and he could at least be a consultant to the offense based on his knowledge of defense. It was kind of dumb for them to interview head coaching candidates last time and have the list whittled down before hiring the GM. I've never quite gotten why the team never gave Dave Toub a shot beyond an interview

Poles will be given a second chance, since this wasn't his coach or QB. A new QB resets things another 5 years on a rookie QB scale.

I've never felt this miserable as a Bears fan, because even if we get two top 5 picks next year I have no confidence in this organization. We can draft Caleb Williams and Marrison Jr or the DE from Florida State. Would we put the right system in place around them.

I think Getsy is a sure bet to be fired. Turned out to be too green and doesn't seem to have any answers /experiences to rely on once his gameplan goes upside down. Still don't know what his "system" is. Bad idea pairing a first time play caller with a young QB and expect them to grow together and figure it out.
I can see Eberflus surviving IF the defense gets better over the next several weeks while he's calling plays. Although, his failed hirings of both coordinators + this team not looking like a professional operation overall on gamedays is damning stuff.
Poles will survive for sure, I don't think this is on him. He worked with Flus and basically got him the personnel he asked for this past offseason. What else is he supposed to do? Plus, he's made several moves beind the scenes (overhauled/reassigned the scouting dept., implemented an analytics team) to bring us more in-line with how the better personnel depts function.
Every Bear fan by now should know to go Payton, Singletary and Sayers
Butkus, McMahon and Urlacher for the white fans

I believe that they said it'd be based on Lafleur's system since Getsy coached under him which is an offshoot of Shanahan's system since Lafleur coached under him. Outside zone runs with linemen who can pull and get downfield. I think the pass game was supposed to be some play action but our linemen block it like it's a game of Madden so we don't do that
I'd throw Neal Anderson, Devin Hester, Richard Dent and Peanut Tillman as other options

My wifey noticed something about the BEARS
as compared to other NFL teams. The BEARS just look so slow
off the ball when it is hiked. The offense, defense, special teams
all play like there is no urgency.
So I watch several other games to compare and it is true
the whole 2023 bears look slow.
It makes me wonder that there practices arent efficient in teaching basic
team football because it shows at gametime.
