I saw a guy in a Khalil Mack jersey out today and thought....hmmmm....maybe it's a good sign for my Bears today

Nope

It was a sign for what Khalil was going to do against the Raiders. :smh:

but hey, at least our defense got one sack today

lol I purposely didn’t watch today and saw 28-7 and knew better than to turn it on and yeah…… Fields just redeemed himself as not being the problem and Eberflus needs to be fired tomorrow.

The bad thing about it is that you can't fire Eberfailure because our OC is ass and we have no DC :smh:

With the Claypool shit and this comeback against his defense. :smh:

Also, Kmet didn’t fight to even TRY and get that last pass. Overpaid motherfucker who continues Chicago’s love affair with anything or anyone from Notre Dame (Claypool, Jimmy Clausen, Rick Mirer, etc.).

Chicago loves Notre Dame and Northwestern

I always thought it was like the Bengals who were always too cheap to have a real scouting department

Don't forget Jim Flannigan, Kris Haines, and Chris Zorich. There are probably a lot more that I can't remember right now. About the only time it worked for them is when they brought in Dave Duerson and Tom Thayer in the same draft. They love going the Notre Dame route unless it really matters. People forget that in spite of all that ND love, this team chose to take a pass on a Notre Dame quarterback named Joe Montana, just months after they interviewed and chose to take a pass on an up and coming assistant coach named Bill Walsh. A week or two after they passed on Bill Walsh, they interviewed and passed up on another bright offensive-minded coach named Don Coryell. Instead they chose to hire a defensive coordinator from Minnesota named Neil Armstrong. In one months time, this team chose to pass up on two of the greatest offensive geniuses in NFL history in favor of a half-assed, dimwitted defensive coordinator, and more than 40 years later, NOTHING has changed.

The 2024 edge/de class is kinda 'meh'. 'Meh' could be an upgrade over what we have now.

Edge rushers don't become free agents like that, especially if they're good.

We should know that with Khalil Mack

I was so desperate a few weeks ago I was talking to a Raiders fan saying Chicago should trade for Chandler Jones

This why I think we need to take one in round one in '24 draft.

Yep, that's why I was saying Verse from FSU

Maybe if we get something out Justin the rest of the season. Get him with a different coach next year, which could be dangerous, because it would be his third system.

Trade down and get the left tackle from Penn State. :dunno:

By the grace of gawd (and whoever handles HNIC's servers), I didn't get any notifications for this thread all day

Dammit man. What a shit call on 4th and 1.
Getsy dumbed out and Flus just let him because he has too much confidence in Getsy for some unfounded reason.

Should've kicked the fucking FG, but Flus had ZERO confidence that his Defense could stop DEN which is huge indictment.

I thought last week was rock bottom

nope....this team is going give us more heart ache. :smh:
Not me .. but we've definitely reached bottom-feeder level type bottoms. The fact is that we were the worse team in the L last year, and have done nothing to relinquish that crown. If and until these guys come back to actually being a professional football team, or at least get a win.. my expectations are nil I ain't gonna sit here and fool myself.

They need to actually be about something.

Getsy playcalling in the 4th quarter is a head scratcher
and flus defensive scheme is trash

3-18 under flus

Unbelievable! Eberflus should be fired asap!
We all knew bad Getsy would come to pass eventually. I was hoping Flus would kind of save him from himself with some guidance, but it looked like they were on the same page discussing the playcalling down the stretch.

Flus defense can't stop the run, the pass, can't pressure the QB... You ask him about it and he acts like everything is fine. So I've tuned it out.

Neither gentlemen are able to get the results necessary to survive in there positions and will be on their way out.

Well, Washinton can whoop us now on Thursday night football on prime.:curse:
For sure.

In our history have we ever had a 300 yard passer, 100 yard receiver and 100 yard rusher in the same game?
Maybe Cutler-Marshall-Forte?

Yeah. Pass rushers are important that they always get their money. Maybe they can get Chase Young for the low since Washington has so many guys on their D-line already getting paid.
I was thinking the same thing about Chandler Jones. He's free now but with his recent issues they aren't to even think about bringing him in
This why I think we need to take one in round one in '24 draft.
You got Verse from FSU, Porkchop from Penn St and the JT I can't pronounce his last name kid from Ohio St. I'd also like to see the team take a center at some point in the draft like the kid from Georgia Sedrick Van Pran

I am checking this thread to see if Getsy and Flus been fired yet?

I think we're gonna have to endure them until the end of the season and hope Poles + Warren are putting the right plan in place for transition.

Hypothetically (and realistically) though: If they were fired now who do you think would be the interim coach?

I wanna support a black dude in a position of power, but Poles hasn't done that well. He appears to be an easy mark in terms of getting bamboozled by coaches and vet free-agents. Most of the Bears GM's or GM equivalent in the unrestricted free agency era-'93- now, have had, by their 2nd year,at least one impactful FA. I guess all Poles can claim so far is maybe Andrew Billings and..Dante Pettis? Fuck.

True! But the question is do you take need over talent? It will be hard to pass on Harrison Jr but DE is a must and Verse is top 5 or top 10 right?
It's also harder to get top notch pass rushers in free agency. For whatever reason, there are always 2-5 talented free agent wr's on the market.

Ernie=Ryan Poles
Lefty the Salesman=coaches Poles hired and veteran free-agents signed.
Today's word boys and girls is "easy mark".

I don't think you fire GMs in this position after 2 years but that's just my opinion I can understand if others feel differently. I think it would be way too impatient to get rid of Poles even with some of the subpar moves in FA. Draft picks are still wait and see we just don't know yet so can't really judge him on that.

Also folks forget you can have all the money in the world, but in FA specifically, players have a choice and have to WANT to come here. The staff can want who they want, but are ultimately limited to who in that field actually likes this situation enough to come.

Eberfailure is an idiot. He wasn't ready to be a coach. So if you reasons and it was your decision for Claypool to stay at home, why were you so clueless after the game :smh:

Just embarrassing

Yep. He got what he wanted, to hire the HC. And he has to own the disaster he’s created.
