Their minds are already made up. John Lynch has been deep throating Brock Purdy all offseason. We know Kyle likes those white bread QB's. Brock will be the starter week 1.
Trey has been been the most consistent QB in camp and he's clearly making throws/plays that Brock can't make. He's going to make them really uncomfortable but they'll stick to their guns with Brock.
I'm gonna be watching the preseason games closely to see how Trey looks. I doubt they even play Brock, so it will be Trey's time to shine.
Day 8 of camp is complete and all reports from the people who attended are saying Trey looked the best today (although all QB's looked good overall).
One thing to note is Trey is not throwing to the starters. He's been throwing to Willie Sneed, Chris Conely, etc primarily. He's had less than a handful of reps with the starters.

I know it isn't what we would like to see. We want a qb competition where the best qb gets the job. But whenever you think about this remember...if Jimmy G stayed healthy, we would likely still be dealing with having him as our unchallenged starter. We really need more celebration that Jimmy is gone.
There was never a true QB competition. That was all talk. It was Brock's job all along. We know John Lynch has been deep throating him since last season. Kyle Shanahan loves his white-bread QB's, so he's rocking with Brock.
Brock isn't 100% healthy so they aren't playing him versus the Raiders. Trent Williams and more starters wont play they don't want to risk him getting injured again.
Brock's original return date was right after the 2nd preseason game. So I'm interested to see if he plays that game just to get him some reps. We all know he needs it.
