yeah i was gonna say this shit would make a killing in the college circuit, military circuit, single man/single female home, latch key child...hell i could see a lot of street vendors using this shit..another product that has 9-10 fig potential of bizzness

Word. Not a bad thing to keep around, especially if you have kids that like chicken nuggets and shit, you can make them yourself now

I love my t-fal I've used it so much I gotta get a new one, not good for everything mostly fries and chicken but really evenly cooked and crisp with 1tb of oil.

Your mind plays tricks on you when you first use, cause your used to tasting a lot of oil in your food but just keep using it over time greasy food will taste horrible once your taste buds adapt.

I remove the skin from my chicken anyway. but what's the cook time on your meals using the t-fal?

Olive Oil is great for sauteing, not deep frying though.

Personally I wouldn't use EVOO, as I don't like the flavor it gives meats, but the lighter colored oils that have gone through multiple presses are ok. I like coconut oil also, but it's solid at room temp. so if he wants to use it in a mister, it makes it harder. Also the peanut oil mentioned is good.

For deep frying? Peanut oil.

Saw why Olive Oil was mentioned a page back, adding a few sprays for the air fryer should be fine, better than canola.

Avacado oil is good for you as well and its safe in high heat
Sunflower oil is safe

So olive oil, coconut, avocado, sunflower and peanut oil are the the preferred oils for healthy cooking.

Corn, canola and vegetable oils are OUT.

Is there a good all purpose oil?

Because I would assume some of these oils have to be refrigerated, better for deep frying vs. pan frying and the prices probably vary greatly also.

OK we need a cooking forum oil thread ASAP!

I primarily use avocado oil when cooking. Its a little expensive but doesn't need to be refrigerated.

It's on the list. I haven't gotten around to the low sodium resource thread yet.

Chicken came out A-1. Super tender inside. Cooked evenly without me having to flip the breasts. They were big pieces. I cooked them at 360 for 25 minutes. Thanks for the recommendation yall.

I want one but damn, are there any larger versions of these that I can keep on the counter? I have a family of five.
That is the only issue is the size. I am about to get another one so that I can cook a larger meal.

So I have the Faberware, but I want one with a bigger basket (Faberware holds 5 chicken legs easily). Which one holds more and is the quality of the food as good?
Thanks

@ 10.5 quarts, this one is 3x larger than most of the ones mentioned in this thread... I'm probably gonna buy their 3.7qt model. The Farberware is 3.2qt

Amazon product ASIN B01I5YCHNA

I just ordered this model because of you providing a visual picture of the product. I liked the size of the fryer plus it comes with accessories, not to mention it has a lot of versatile features. For the price, I think it is a good investment. Thanks for sharing.

So I went and finally got mine 2 days ago. This thread pushed me over my hesitation.

So last night made some fries in there with the preset. Was like 18 min. Burned them lol.....

Took another stab and only took 8min and they were excellent. I couldn't believe the ease of it. I sprinkled little olive oil on the first batch.

I plan on breading some fish fillets up and doing those for me and my lil man for Wednesday. I got mine from Bed Bath and Beyond. Had the 20% coupon.

Power Air Fryer XL 5.3 quarts

Def money well spent

cjicken wings and fries for lunch... if you spray your meat and fries with sunflower oil (light coat) before cooking, they are better than deep fried wings and fries to me

I just ordered the Todd English since it is bigger

Man I was like you so I copped the walmart joint. That shit is on point but not big enough for me and hungry fam. The Todd English is bigger and digital. The Faber ware is the truth if you are single or no kids. Them wangs better than KFC. With minimum sunflower oil sprayed on before you cook them
That's what's up

Yeah it took me a few cooks to gauge the time it takes to cook food. I have been using it just about everyday

Made some chicken battered in almond flour (paleo) yesterday that came out perfect. Made two big pieces but the wifey dug in before i could take pics.

I now realize that I need a bigger joint. This Farberware is going back to Walmart. Which of the bigger ones would y'all suggest? Im not trying to spend a crazy amount either :hmm: lol

EDIT i see the 10.5qt posted above. It's only 1300w. Any others y'all using?
