Sorry fam

Had a great time as it turns out the dream had engine problems AFTER we got off .

This past thursday night they started having engine trouble and cancelled the cozumel stop. They began limping their way back to NOLA at 9 kts per hour.

They stopped sometime friday to do a 'fix' and it seemed to work they began back on course to NOLA at full speed 19 knt per hr.

Aft (back) balconies may become ashtrays because of the balconies on the higher floors. Dickheads will try to flick their cigs into the sea.

Balconies are nice but don't miss an opportunity to cruise because the balconies are above the budget.

Wow, sorry to hear that part.

Did you enjoy all the food you could eat? That was my biggest surprise.

Of course yaw don't care about that the main thing you want is how I sneak whole 5ths of alcohol on board.

Key is understanding how ships work. Most cruise ships have to load and scan 1,000's if not over 10k bags per cruise. Hell here is the bags people put out at the end of the cruise to be carried off

so what kind of scanners do the cruiselines use to scan all of that luggage?

NOT the kind TSA use at the airport. It is my understanding the system they use is color coded for quick Identification of items: ie cloths will scan blue, hardware (books tablets etc will scan green) and liquids will scan red (say your rum runners and bottles just laying there.)

I have 3 methods to avoid this detection 1st is I wrap my bottles in clothes or stuff between shoes. 2nd I align these with the poles or brackets of my luggage handles.

Now this 3rd method works for when you board and when you want to bring something back from port.

Chances are if I'm in port I am snorkeling and have my snorkel mask with me

well now its just a matter of

Now this could be in my travel backpack or a shopping bag. Key is if its flagged they ask you to step over to another table or section to go thru yo shit. I never do that I just grab my bag head towards the table than go to the elevator to my room. Or I take my snorkel out and give them the shopping bag (hey its just a snorkel nothing in there :)

Like I said its all about knowing how a ship works and the psychology of the people working there.

Another thing that helps IMO is how my wife packs. Shit looks perfect, if they were to open our case they gon be scared to death to fuck up her perfectly folded clothes. I wish I took a pic of the packed bags you would never guess there was something hidden in there.

1st. Passengers are scanned and wand-ed for metal.

Buy liquor in plastic bottles or put in plastic flasks then carry it in your pocket. They come in various sizes.
Available on Ebay and Amazon.

I joined some travel groups and a few of them told me to get ship insurance. So I have a question.

Since I'm going in October and lets say an actual hurricane starts up in new orleans or along the path. Right at or around my dates of travel. Do I literally just lose my money? No refund, nothing?

No.

Carnival offers options based on the circumstances.

If a cruise is canceled due to weather or mechanical issues then you will be offered a full refund and possibility a present and even a future discount based on how close to the sailing this event occurs.

If your cruise experiences a weather event at sea then their first course of action is to reroute the ship which may result in a substitution of port or the cancellation of a port stop or more. You may get a partial refund and / or a future cruise credit.

Insurance is primarily to protect you from missing your cruise due to illness or missing your flight or whatever keeps you off the ship at embarkation. Remember your cruise has to be paid in full before the sailing date so insurance protects you from missing your cruise based on your unavailability.

Bruh, I took a cruise that was bound for Cozumel but due to a weather delay we just cruise around the Gulf of Mexico and then returned to port. I was refunded 50% and also given 50% off a future cruise of the same length.

I was also on a cruise that shortened our stay in Aruba and substituted Curacao for Nassau Bahamas. I was hurt. They refunded us like 20%.

Just a heads up until Jan 31st Carnival is running a reduced deposit special on cruises.

This is what I use to book several cruises a year or 2 out and pay on them as I go.

I just pulled the trigger on the hawaii cruise I was talking about for april 2019 and I'm thinking about a panama canal cruise for feb 2020

I normally cruise twice a year (looking to up it to 3 times.)

What I do is book out at least a year or two in advance and take advantage of deposit discounts.

Normally to book a cabin requires a $200 per person deposit. Every now and then carnival has reduced $50 per person deposit. When they do this I book cruises a year or so out. Got a back to back booked for our 20th anniversary next April.

Pay $50 or $100 a pay period or monthly and it's paid for with ease.

We got back from Belize, and other locales, on the 30th of December. It was aight. We're RC & Celebrity people.

I hear good things about the food on Celebrity. I like many of their itineries but too many folks tell me it ain't live like Carnival. Older crowd.

I ain't young but I like my fun ship experiences on Sea Days.

The food on Celebrity is the bomb, but as for nightlife, I thought Carnival would be liver than RC. The club scene on Carnival is good, but I thought RC's was better.

Please tell me about Celebrity. I don't think I can do Carnival.
How clean and modern are the ships? How's the food and entertainment?
Most importantly, how are the guests? Are they rowdy and are there a lot of children?

You might like Royal Caribbean.
My wife went with her sister.
The food was better but the entertainment she likes better on Carnival.
