Anyone here have a mancave?

Kept it real simple and added a 75" Vizio M 4K TV with a soundbar over the holidays.

Mounted that bitch myself...Kinda proud I was able to do it on my own. :D

Next step is figuring out how to decorate the room. Wifey says having posters will be corny o_O:hmm:

All I have down there now is an old couch for now with plans to add recliner movie seats later this year.

And yeah, I'm poor. Still rocking my PS4 and Xbox One :angry::smh:

Next move this year is to set up my wetbar/kitchen :D

A home theater ain't good until you have a great remote. I am partial to URC remotes but the learning curve can be steep and 'finding' their proprietary dealer specific software can be difficult. However, if you overcome the aforementioned obstacles it is by far the best systems of remotes you can use. I usually check eBay to buy store display versions, which only require a new battery, which can be found on eBay or Amazon for around 10-14 bucks. I currently have the MX-3000 (this one stays in the theater room but it is capable of controlling all zones of my home), got it off eBay for 80 bucks, MX-950 (eBay $75.00) (for the bed room and it can control all zones of my home), and my recently purchased MX-990 ($150.00 best offer purchase. I will keep this one in the family room and program it for whole house use too). Here is a starter link about using URC Complete Control software to program the following remotes: MXW-920, MX-6000, MX-5000, MX-1200, MX-990, MX-980, MX-900, MX-890, MX-880, MX-880Z, AND MX-780.

Update: built a outside deck from my mancave. Waiting for it to cure before I stain it.

Nice, I built a huge one many years back at my old house in Brooklyn.

I have two comments on how you built that.

1. How sturdy is that railing. Looks to me like you need stronger boards every few feet. My suggestion is build a bench all the way around and tie those posts to it for strength. Right where someone would grab at the top of the step would be your weak point and will wobble. Or can just put maybe some 4x4 posts or 2x4 and tie them on the outside under the rail to the 2x6 framing studs on the base.

2. That step. I would get two wide paving stones like 12x12x2 or bigger and raise the level of the step to the height of the deck or lower the whole step down. People are going to trip on that. Or other alternative is, if you have left over decking. Put it on that top step to level it off. People will trip bruh. Trust and believe.

::two cents::

yea agreed about that top step I can def see it would be easy for people unfamiliar with the deck to trip on that top stair, as they'd assume it was the same level as the floor.

Nice deck tho bro!

@Bullet I meant something like this, but for mines, I used 2x4 to frame it out and just put the decking on it and can get outdoor seat cushions if you want, usually cheap at many places for the ladies, lol.

But can tie the posts into this for extra strength

Good stuff man.

My next move it putting up the backsplash in my kitchen/wetbar.

Only mistake I made with that is I should have put a full sized refrigerator down there :curse: instead of the small mini fridge I have now.

I'll add pics once I'm done.

Anyone got epoxy down in their cave? Planning to put down some metallic brushed silver in my cave. Doing a test pour next weekend. Wife already wants me to do the counter tops and garage.

Originally no door going to basement. I installed 15 pane because of the noise. Put a single pane glass door for entrance to the media room. Geeves in the corner holds the 3D glasses. Framed all basement windows with white trim and installed blinds. To give a more homey feeling. By far the most popular feature of anything in the mancave is the concession/popcorn machine. Folks just love free candy and popcorn.

I might steal your idea and add trim to frame around the windows.

I recently trimmed out a full wall in the basement to make it more than just a plain wall, similar to below:
