I see that Hedge fund billionaire Bill Ackman's company Valeant Pharmaceuticals (VRX) stock price dropped $35.53 a share today. Their stock is now priced at $33.51. Do any of you investors see this as a come-up stock or has the shipped sailed on this motherfucker? Taking all advice b/c I'd like to jump on it ASAP

that stock is sooo toxic right now, but i would wait a little bit more. let it bottom out some more. BIOTECH is not where it's at right now. they're all being scrutinized hard. i think, and this is just me, i think, once they bottom out completely, another company will buy them out. either that or they'll wait it out and start turning around but....that might be a long wait

Thanks. I'm monitoring it and it dropped another $2.71 a share today. After I posted my comment, I was reading up on Valeant and boy are they in deep shit!

Had to close last trade early to avoid big loss so my i'm at 913 euro's now.
Opened a new aex 415/420 MAY 2016 put spread last week which is doing ok.
Risking 437 to make 136 euro. I will close trade early at 50% profit if market stays sideways.

Regarding dividends, which is better and why ?
Cash or stock dividend?
Quaterly or yearly dividend ?

amazon

its expensive but i make more with it than leaving the money in a savings account.

Bump. This thread is dope. Also, if you day trade, check out CHK (Chesapeake) Its price is normally based on the oil and natural gas prices. Its extremely volatile, I've seen it go up or down 9% in a single day. If you end up on the right end, you can make some money (you can also lose a lot so be careful with it)

Cool.... I've been watching it for about a month now.... Planning on investing 2 - 3 thousand. I don't plan on selling them tho. Was thinking of a surefire stock and a few cheap ones but we'll see

i am not one to always watch the market. I bought a few other items in very small numbers to see what its like.

the amazon purchase made up for losses...plus the money would otherwise just sit in my savings account making way less

Stocks? I thought you only followed Buffet's guaranteed method of index funds.
You still on that shit huh Even though every historical data out there proves that buying index funds will beat stock pickers over the long run. I was just asking a question.

Just finished all 17 pages. Thanks again fellas...just a few questions from someone who wants to begin investing and finally put a little money in stocks:

1. Sharebuilder is now Capitalone Investing, right? Is there any major difference now? What about Capitalone vs ScottTrade vs E-Trade etc. (esp re: fees)? I already have a Cap1 cc/and 360 accounts so Im thinking this might be the easiest way for me to get a brokerage account quickly.

2. Im gonna start out with about 1500 purely dedicated for stocks and also want to buy some bitcoins via Coinbase just to hold onto to see if the value increases over time. I want to invest in maybe 5 or 6 compnies (GBTC, Ford, Statoil, Lenovo, Skullcandy) and just let nature take its course over time. Is that a dumb move or should I expect to make a bunch of moves in a short period of time?

Sorry for the elementary questions, I can already imagine what I must sound like since some of yall are seasoned vets with this. Any feedback is appreciated.
