I apologize to those asking me for help on songs. I just don't have the time. Between work and working on tunes for 2 bands, my time is maxed out.
You know I appreciate any knowledge you can pass along to me whenever man. You and Wood have been a huge help to me already and I thank you guys so much for it.

Hey, check THIS free app out…

So far, last night, I played Purple Rain, Good Times (Chic), Enter Sandman, The Thrill is Gone and Jimi Hendrix (Voodoo Chile and Little Wing) + messed with some Joe Pass and George Benson jazz presets. Sound quality is on point.

Res...

Just forced myself to put down the guitar...

Mannnn, that Tone Bridge is nice! I could play with that thing for hours.

I never even got to the other app I got today.

It's cool that you don't have to try to figure out how they got their tone, on the tunes you wanna play.

Grew up playing piano and the upright bass. Mad at myself for not continuing. Can’t read music for shit anymore but can still play a few songs on piano by ear

Coolness.

Unless I change my mind beforehand, I plan to gift myself with an upright bass for Christmas.

That's a bucket list thing for me, actually.

I played classical string bass in college. Also, my best friend at that time had an upright bass. When we'd be conversing about women and life, I'd be plucking jazz riffs on it. Love those instruments. I'd want one just to look at sitting in the corner of my living room or my music space as much as I'd want it to play. lol

My older cousin played his cards right growing up. Got into music early and stuck with piano and guitar to this day. He’s about 46yo now and played in 2 bands during teen years. He’s a music teacher at an elementary school that 2 of his 4 kids attend. I remember thinking “man, he’s smart. He’s got his little part-time jobs here and there, but he’s making real $$$ off his side hustle with teaching people both instruments.” Better yet - setting his own hours and people coming to him. They were paying quite a bit too.

Bruh, that's a classic. It's going on the list for songs to learn... plus, it looks pretty straight forward.

Coolness.

Bruh, several years ago, before I picked up the guitar again, I had 3 guitars hanging on my wall...just decorations.

It wasn't til I realized that one of them that was all beat up from my son playing it on tour was still nicer than the guitar I tried to play, as a kid.

So, I decided to fix it and learn how to play... best decision I've made in a long time.

I'm almost as much a collector and tinkerer as I am a player.

Bruh, got my FOURTH Fender amp today...FREE. I damn shole don't need it, but I may sell it or package it with some other stuff for a trade.

Of the three I already have, I spent only $100..a Frontman 15G..$20
Mustang v2...$30 or $40
Performer 650 $30 or $35

The new (used) one is a KXR 100. It's a keyboard/guitar/ mini PA.

This bitch is massive! 27" high and 55 lbs, but feels more like 75 lbs.

A big 15" speaker with a dual piezo horn.
Claims to do 80 watts, but it looks like it'll shake the windows.

3 separate channels, headphone jack, and an effects loop jack with a mic input.

I scan Craigslist, often, for free stuff...you'd be surprised at what people give away... especially rich ones.

I cleaned it up and tested it...it only has a clean channel, but it has a lil EQ built in. This is perfect, cuz I can use my own pedal or ToneBridge for any effects. It sounds nice.

It's in pretty good shape. The only thing missing is the plastic Fender logo and the handle...it's so heavy, I'm not sure I'll replace that. It damn near needs to be on casters.

One day, I'ma come up on a Twin, Deluxe, or Super Reverb...or Marshall.

Ya man Fred Sanford strikes again.

I love Reverb. I check it out to find the value of stuff I buy. I saw that amp for sale between $150-$200.

The only problem I have with them and any other online site is buying before you get a chance to play it.

I bought my Squier Strat like that.

That thing needed MAJOR fret work. It was so bad, that it would scrape my fingers, when playing....I had to file the edges of damn near every fret to get it playable.

Then there was the fret buzz, that I learned how to fix...that took forever.

I'd buy nicer ones online, as long as there's a return policy, and you can see and research the serial number.

I'm sure some of these deals on Craigslist and others are bootlegs...when someone is selling a $2000 Les Paul for $300, buyer beware.

The thing, now, is the quality of even bootleg Chenders and Chibsons (Chinese bootleg Fenders and Gibsons) is pretty damn good.

On Reverb I only fuck with 5 star guitar and bass shops around the country. That's the best way to go. Can still pick up phenomenal deals that way too. But of course if I can't find a deal, Sweetwater is my main go to spot. They ALWAYS what you want when others are out of it.

I can look at Sweetwater and Reverb all day, just checking on deals...

As much as I'd like to be the guy in love with one guitar, I can't...there's so much cool stuff out now.

Post that up, when you do...I wanna check it out.

What's new with your progress?

It used to take me a day or two to learn a new tune. Now, I can figure it out in a few minutes...often, as soon as I see where the initial hand placement is.

Also, just starting to know which chords are used together... especially in rock songs.

That A-D-A or D-A-D combo is used all the time.

I was learning an old Montrose tune, and realized that at the end of another of his joints, he uses D-A...the one I just learned, he just reverses the chords.

Then, figured out that Sammy Hagar, who was the singer for Montrose, used the SAME chord pattern as well on one of his tunes.

There's some great rock guitarists, but I've found that there's a lotta lil shortcuts and cheat codes they do to make stuff easy.

As a kid, I liked alotta rock tunes cuz, to my ears, they just seemed to be doing more.

Now, I see that the strumming patterns in R&B is wayyy more intricate than I imagined.

Worked on C-G-D-Am cord changes using the Fender Tone amp with the Mustang amp. You literally don't need any effects pedals with this Amp and app. Over 200 effect pedals are there. Only pedal I'm gonna need is a wah pedal. I'll need that one. Been using the 80's Hysteria Experience preset with those chords. Sounds real nice. Has Delay, large hall reverb, Simple compresser and pedal detune pedals already set to it. That app and amp is a game changer!!!
