@raze

Were the effects REALLY that bad?

The final battle between Killmonger and T'Challa was rough in spots. Not as bad as the Secret Invasion final battle but the vfx artists needed more time. Parts of the sequence were like an old video game. Superheroes defy the laws of physics all the time, but this didn't feel well planned out. Some of their movements were too quick and jerky. It looked like they were floating rather than falling at one point.

This is why this movie ain't like anything else

So folk NEED to stop trying to use white folk rules.

Look at the meticulous and serious way they took A SINGLE LINE OF FOREIGN DIALOGUE?

You just don't REPLACE the lead to this film like you would a damn sit com neighbor

You gotta respect it and do it right.

I'm so emotionally close to it even 4 times in the theater and on DVD and at home?

It was hard for me to see it.

But that first battle night? I still can't see sh*t. And they even went back to FIX it for streaming apparently.

The problem is the theater has had great backlighting and most home TVs just don't have the backlighting capable of showing this movie as it was seen in theaters.

I had no problem seeing the wings on Namor's feet in the theaters, but I couldn't see spit when I saw it on Disney Plus and I have a pretty good Samsung TV.

Either this week or next I am getting a Samsung 83-in OLED, and I've been told that this is as good as it gets to being in the theater, so Wakanda forever is one of the first movies I'm going to watch

I hope Panther 3 will be more about a black superhero and less a pandering motif showing how wonderful Africa would be if they actually had superior technology created by women. Sure you can show it, but that shouldn't be the entire story and plot!

who is going to support bp with shuri as lead? she can not hold a candle to chadwick, she said so herself. a lot of people hated that last movie
You must be smokin crack. BP2 made almost 900 million on a 200ish million dollar budget. They're gonna ride that until the wheels fall off.

I didn't care for it, but what Ryan Coogler was able to pull off in a short amount of time was admirable.
I would say that BP2 was very realistic in the manner of "Oh shit, shit happens what do I do when I'm taking out of my comfort zone?" more so than any other superhero movie next to Spider-Man No Way Home.

Shuri is more fit to be in the lab, but she was forced to be the protector of Wakanda out of desperation.

What Ryan coogler did was admirable because he took a no-win situation and made a pretty good movie. Now, the lighting issue vastly affected the streaming re-watch value unless you have a BOMB ASS TV and/or know what settings bring out the best in the movie, but it was realistic. And if you saw it in the theater it was spectacular.

Think about real life. How many people do you know who have had someone, either the primary breadwinner or the matriarch or patriarch who is the glue of the family, die all of a sudden out of nowhere. People got to figure out how to pay bills, people got to figure out how to pay taxes, people got to figure out how to deal with life while life is coming on a train barreling towards you at 90 MPH. THAT was BP2. And she had to deal with a WAR with no powers and use science to recreate the herb

Namor and his people were formidable, Killmonger showing up was beautiful and unexpected, and aside from the Lesbian love that was inserted that no one needed/wanted/asked for the performances were spectacular - plus Little T'Challa at the end was a very nice touch.

While Shuri is ill-fit to hold the mantle long-term, she found out firsthand that heavy is the head who wears the crown.

There was no better option at the time considering how difficult it would have been to simply re-cast T'Challa, and it actually fit the comic. Replacing T'Challa is as impossible as attempting to replace MLK after his assassination. You needed a strong mind, strong character, willing and able to ignore the noise and crisicism with professionalism, able to do the character and the action and handle the newfound fame with people coming at him all over social media.

You needed a Jackie Robinson Black man RIGHT NOW, and those do not grow on trees.

With more time to scout and the cool down period of Chadwick's death, I believe that actor can be found

I can't wait to get this TV either this week or next to watch Wakanda Forever in all it's splendor as it was meant to be seen.
