Ironically, they should've used The Scorpion King model for the Black Adam character.
Make him a villain first (preferably of Shazam), maybe in two or more films like with Thanos, then give him his own film where it delves into his past. Once you've established him as a formidable and interesting character, people would've flocked to see him in a solo film.

This. Why these need to build a "universe" just because Marvel did it? The recent Joker and Batman films did well and they're wholly separate. Just focus on making a good movie.

Dwayne used that to strong arm his boy Henry back into the fold to increase the power of his agency and company. Black Adam didnt do the numbers so the studio had to clip that nigga wings and let him know he is talent and not running shit.
Black Adam only got a greenlight after Sazaam was successful. Dwyane hijacked that shit, separated himself from the character origin, and wanted to go big nuts and make it all about him and fucking Superman..
this is the second time he has tried this. He was trying hard to jack the Fast Series from Vin Diesel. all the DC characters are constantly in each other universes when it comes to TV, comics, and the cartoons they produce. It's a fair question to ask as to why it's so hard for DC to do it in their live action film properties.
