And that's why The Conjuring Universe is the strongest cinematic universe out there. Cheap ass movies that make a shit load of money.

That goes with the point I made with Discovery sitting at the table.

Anybody familiar with that cable channel and it’s sister network’s know it is flooded with cheaply produced programming like “Deadliest Catch”, Gold Mining shows, Folks living off the grid, Fat people shows and marriage/dating shows and other crap.

Along with all those home improvement shows.

Those shows bring in millions in advertising revenue from big Fortune 500 companies like automakers, retail, pharmaceutical, insurance companies and others.

Money is what they are looking at, they don’t care about “Agenda’s”, source material and other nitpicking nonsense.

It’s all about getting eyeballs looking at that screen.

Shame they fucked up this Black Adam movie. They basically had a Riddick-like character and fucked it up. :smh:
They probably should've used Vin Diesel. He can pull of the type of character The Rock was going for in Black Adam much better than The Rock can.

The Rock can pull of the cocky, jock character and the professional dad character and that's it. The silent, mysterious figure whose intentions aren't clear type of character isn't his strength. Plus the writing was bad too.

Obese people, MILFs, midgets, the deformed, blind, cripple, and crazy are popular and don't cost much to produce. It's all trash.

After watching it, I think what mainly discouraged a lot of folks from watching this film was because it did not directly connect with the Shazam movie.

Shazam, wasn’t popular with comic heads, but was popular with the general audience with how it was presented.

The Rock wanted to keep it separated which I believed is what hurt it with the general audience.

Henry Cavill was brought in at the last minute to try to save it. That after credit scene should have been with Shazam. That possibly could have brought in more folks into the theater once word spread about it.

An after-credits scene in Shazam featuring Black Adam is the least they could've done and should've been a no-brainer.

Hell, I'm still disappointed I will never get to see what they would've done with Deathstroke after introducing him in the Justice League after-credits scene.

I don't think anyone could have saved this script. Pitch black/Chronicles showed how to introduce and transform a character of this type. This writing would have made Vin and anyone else also look like a fool. :smh:

Even if this didn't do numbers, it sill could have been a cult classic with a great script.

I really agree with your last part. In fact, it may still become a cult classic. Enough time hasn't passed yet to really be sure of that.

Personally, I believe people at WB knew this would be the DCEU's farewell movie. The Rock likely didn't know but I'm sure the execs did. They should've took reigns from Dwayne and made a good movie before moving on to what will likely be a hard reboot under Gunn.

I smell a goat - more like "scapegoat".

WTF is wrong with this dude? (Aside from clearly being an incel...)
Ain't nobody "blaming" Dwayne Johnson solely for Black Adam's failure at the box office.
There were a number of factors that aided in the failure of that film.
Such as:
- Lack of knowledge of the character.
- Lack of connection to the Shazam continuity.
- Poorly conceived story and underwhelming execution.
- General audience lack of interest in the film or any of the characters.
- Fans not returning to the theaters for repeat viewings and poor word of mouth.

And saying that because Johnson is a Black man over and over does not explain the reason why Warner dropped him, and effectively ended The Snyderverse. I also love how (at the 20 minute mark) he managed to somehow drag women into his rant about why they dismissed Johnson from Warner.

This dude really needs help. :smh:
(Or a hug...)

He's in bad need of pussy particularly from a woman who truly cares about him. He's obviously lonely and seems to be socially awkward and likely on the spectrum.

The sycophantic feedback he gets from his very small following isn't helping him either. He needs ppl who really care about him to intervene on his behalf.

Yep.
I've peeped several of his videos over the years and I have to agree with you.
Something is definitely "off" about this guy and his interaction with not only women, but with people in general.

He strikes me as the type of dude who was raised believing that:
- All women are dirty. (Except for maybe his mother)
- Being smart and getting good grades in school should've made girls view him as a "good catch".
- Being a hard working, tax paying, good guy should somehow make him special in women's eyes and more successful.
Sadly, the reality of his life isn't all he believed it SHOULD have been. And women winded up viewing him as being just an off putting, socially awkward, misogynist who never really learned how to properly approach them.

I know he's a self published comic book creator, (and that's great) but his focus has always seemed to be showcasing his distain for women and how poorly they've regarded him and other men just like him. :smh:

You probably just wrote dude's memoirs for him. This describes his type to a tee.

BTW, he doesn't only write comic books but self-help books as well. Stop Simping in Cyber Space is one his books. Ironically that's probably what he does when he's not making videos for YouTube.

But the movie didn't fail because a Black man is it's star.
Nor did Warner's drop him because a Black man was trying to have his own franchise.
It failed for a whole host of reasons none of which were attached to race, racism or white supremacy like he's saying.
Believe it or not:
- Dwayne Johnson is generally not viewed as being Black. He's probably viewed as being mixed or "racially ambiguous".
- Black Adam should NOT have had his own starring vehicle right out the gate. He's not The Joker, Venom, Loki or even Harley Quinn.
- Had Black Adam been a success and was a massive financial hit, things would've been very, very different. But it wasn't. So they decided to reset the whole DCEU slate.
- Of the 11 Snyderverse films that have been released, technically only 2 have been big hits with audiences and critics:

- Unlike the MCU, The Snyderverse has not been successful. Clearly, Warner Bros doesn't want this to continue...

I doubt he's a simp.
He honestly strikes me as being too hostile towards women to ever be a simp.

You're right. The manosphere generally hates simps but I was thinking he may be a hypocrite. Even most incels need sexual release and I highly doubt women are busting down the door to be with him. So, if he's not simping, he's definitely gunning it to porn.

I thought he had said something to the effect of"Shazam was a silly kids movie" in interviews
If that's true, The Rock is an egotistical whore and I'm glad his movie failed. Doesn't this idiot know his character is in the same universe as Shazam?

Imagine if someone at Marvel said it wouldn't make since to have Iron Man and TGotG in same film or some stupid shit like that.

Those last 2 points fall exclusively on the hands of DC/Wb execs. They tried to rush everything. Marvel phase 1 and 2 was like a damn decade in the making.

So to rush Justice League out there like they did and take it from 2 movies into 1. To not even develop all of the JL characters first. How the hell do you have a justice league movie and not even all of the members have their movies or moments? Man of Steel was re-conned into JL. Ben Affleck wasn't really established as Batman, Harley Quinn was out there but it might as well had been an alternate reality. Joker was a joke, .... DC was throwing everything at the walls and trying to see what sticks.

They didn't care about actually telling a good damn story and letting the film and fans be the promoters....no, how quick can we get something out there.

The Marvel playbook was established..it worked/works.....but nah mfkrs gotta prove they know better.......

I can agree with just about everything you posted here except Joker.
I thought the Joker film was really good and established that version of the character quite well.
But The Joker from the Snyderverse was just god awful. Jared Leto really shit the bed with his off putting performances....:smh:

The Rock is better then Cena
I have to beg to differ. If we're talking acting chops, Cena has the Rock beat. The Rock plays a very similar/the same character in the majority of his movies. While I prefer Cena in comedic roles and think he is way funnier than the Rock, I just think he is way more believable in diverse roles.

Because of Peacemaker

Cena got the edge

But Rock in the WWE and on Ballers?

It's not that easy to dismiss his range.

I need to see Cena in more things first.

Oh I think I seen it

But the Rock in the rundown (which is the one potential franchise the rock completely slept on @gene cisco I had a wicked treatment for the sequels)

Be cool, pain & gain, he was good in Hobbs and Shaw, central intelligence and real talk?

And young rock

Go watch Moana... he killed. And voice acting is very challenging

Do not under estimate the Rock
