Biden just tap danced on Putin's speech scheduled for tomorrow. It is very telling that Russian propaganda channels have either completely ignored the visit or spun it as another "goodwill gesture".
Putin tried to pull a "Lil Kim" and try to get all the attention on him with a missile launch..... it fucking FAILED...... missile went boop

It looks dumb now.

But if you are Putin 365 days ago, the notion was this was going to be a cakewalk, the US won't do shit, NATO isn't solidified, I have enough supporters and conscripts in the country to rebel within that would make the invasion easier, Ukraine's President is a pussy, he's a career comedian not a war decorated war general, the West is scared of me, they don't want to see me on a battlefield etc. etc. Putin didn't count on the US backing Ukraine and NATO uniting stronger since in 80 years in opposition to him. He didnt count on the reserve and willingness to fight from the Ukrainians. And he was right to assume that due to recent history (2014 Annexation of Crimea). But boy was he wrong. lol. He had all of us thinking Russia was a Peer-to-Peer foe and them jokers are in the battlefield using Korean War era vehicles and weapons getting their asses kicked left and right.
What you’re saying is 100% wrong. We backed Russia into a corner, and they had no choice but to fight.

This isn’t about Russia’s expansion, or Russia underestimating the US. We basically forced him into this.

We were the ones too foolish to see it coming.

When the Soviet Union split in the 1990s theUS and Soviets entered into an agreement saying that they would not expand the nations in NATO to include Nations east of Germany.

The Us broke the agreement in 1999, allowing Poland and Czech Republic’s in. They laughed in Russias face and said, do something about it. Russia did nothing.

Then US broke the agreement again in 2004, allowing Lithuania and Romania. Again laughed in Russias face. Russia did nothing.

In 2014, the US then supported a coup is Ukraine, Russias direct neighbor. After the coup, the US said that they would work to allow Ukraine into NATO.

Russia told the US that that while they allowed the other stuff, they can’t allow NATO right next door. If Ukraine were to join NATO, they could put a U.S. military base right next to Russias border.

Putin went on national TV and gave an ultimatum, stop trying to get into NATO or we’ll invade.

Ukraine said fuck you Putin, and he invaded.

From Russia’s standpoint, NATO in the Ukraine would mean the end of their country. Everyone thinking that Russia is just going to stop, or that Russia would never use nuclear weapons if they were losing is a fool.

It’s the equivalent of Russia putting a military base in Toronto. What would we do to stop that? Would we go to nuclear war over it. You damn right we would, and so will they.

The purpose of the Cold War is not to go too far and push the other side into a nuclear war. Fuck with them, yes. But you never corner a rat.

We cornered Russia, and now we’re in a mess. Most on social media have no idea about the above. It was common knowledge before 2022 and widely reported on by The NY Times, Washington Post, etc. But when Ukraine was invaded all this type of reporting stopped.

Im not here to take Russias side, I’m here to take the US side. When people were against the War in Iraq, it’s not because they were pro-Saddam Hussein. They knew that if we went down the path, it would be bad for the US

When Russia say they will use nukes if they lose this war, we should believe them.

People here are playing on social media with hashtags, and have no idea what the consequences of a nuclear war would be. Millions of us dead.

It seems you've given this considerable thought, so please if you would, explain what existential threat a NATO aligned UK poses to the citizens of RU. RU isn't even officially a communist country anymore, so what exact western ideologies are they so afraid of in UK. Are they really that worried about nazis and lgbt+ stuff?

I honestly didn't read or hear this anywhere else, but I have a feeling its because the RU ruling class is afraid of loosing additional influence in eastern europe, the collapse of the last remaining vestiges of the soviet politburo, and all hope of resurrecting the russian empire of old.

The dummies on this board will only believe what the government media tells them. They are fully on board with the U.S. government propaganda. They have no idea of the history of the conflict which you outlined because the government media ignores it and dummies haven't realized the media is just the propaganda arm of the government. Dummies cheering on a war with Russia like they are Iraq or Afghanistan or something instead of the country with the largest nuclear arsenal in the world. I don't give a fuck about Ukraine and their border dispute with Russia. Nothing over there is worth me or my family dying for.

Putin is right. Makes more sense than china joe.

Where is the lie?

Take a look at the Nato map in relation to Russia. Nato keeps expanding getting closer to Russia. If China had a security agreement with multiple countries in N. America and was damn near right at the U.S. border do you think we would have a problem with it? Have you ever heard of the Cuban missile crisis? This war was provoked by the U.S. and it’s Nato allies. If you still believe the media these days, man you are lost. Did the media tell you the U.S. government helped overthrow the democratically elected Ukraine government in 2014 and install a western puppet? Nope, they left that part out along with a lot of other shit. Are you willing to risk nuclear war for Ukraine. We aren't fucking with Sadam Hussein this time.

NATO is a military agreement between nations. If Ukraine were to join NATO they would have US military in the country.

The US could (and would) put missles and a full military base right at Russia’s border.

NATO also has a pact that if any one of the nations is attacked, they all go to war.

It is unthinkable for Russia to allow something like that to happen. The US already slept with Russia’s wife, now they are trying to do it again, while Russia is in the same bed.

Beyond your completely baseless lies (the US never had any treaty not to expand nato and there is 0 proof of anything else you said) since Russia has been handed their own butts on a silver platter for the previous year by a country a fraction of their size. If nato wanted to invade Russia, the only impediment is nuclear weapons, that it's. Without that NATO would be in Moscow as fast as tanks could get there in a straight line.

I'm familiar with the Cuban Missile Crisis, and IMHO it wasn't exactly an apples to apples comparison to the pre-war situation between RU and UK. I'll elaborate on that, but only if you answer the question I asked in my previous post.

I previously asked, what western ideologies are they (RU) so afraid of coming from UK? Is it capitalism, lgbt+ stuff, civil rights, nazisism, what? If you're thinking guns, tanks, bombs, missiles, etc., please share what reason UK would have to start a war with RU? If they'd have left their borders alone after the demise of the USSR, I don't think we'd be discussing any of this.

Western ideologies are a side bar. This is a security issue for Russia. Would you want biological research facilities run by China in Mexico like the U.S. has in Ukraine?
