It's always going to look awkward compared to the men's game. Since the 1970s part of basketball's appeal was excitement, dunks, the crossovers, the passing. Hell, an entire league was started and marketed around excitement (the ABA) and that has been the case for the NBA every decade since. With the WNBA you're not going to get that excitement with missed lay ups and poor passing and low scores being played by 5' 10" dykes.
Women's softball should be the primary women's sport that we market in this country. Women's softball pitchers can throw really nasty shit, women's power hitters can hit moonshots and the sport can be quite frantic and exciting. The field and equipment suit women well and play to a woman's strength.
Womens softball will not take off because the women are usually fat, not attractive, and odd shaped with big ole braid ponytails. People keep on talking about talent but that is not what men viewers care about. You got to be attractive women to get men to watch.

Yes, it can be improved financially. Simply order the female basketball players to sell pussy before the game, during timeouts (3 minute quickies for five dollars a pop), at half-time and after the game (making them shower first costs extra).

And this is the point that I was trying to make earlier when I said basketball should not be the primary women's sport that gets all of the tv time and attention, because you're taking a sport that generally requires men to be taller than 86% of the male population at a minimum and the average NBA player is about 6' 7" which makes them taller than 99% of the male population and having a substantial amount of height, enables you to do the things that make basketball exciting, which is dunking.
While I do want women to do well, the show is important. I don't get the same energy and excitement from the WNBA as I do from women's tennis or softball.
Let's break down softball. The field is symmetric at 220 to left, right, and center, the pitcher stands 43 feet away and pitches underhand. This allows softball pitchers to throw nasty shit or hard shit, also the fields are small enough for the women's game that women can hit home runs.
Simply softball fits what women can do and doesn't expose what they can't. No woman is walking into Yankee Stadium and hitting a home run to death valley, just like no woman is walking into Madison Square Garden and catching an alley-oop. The difference is that there will never be women playing baseball in Yankee Stadium having it presented like it's something that it's not, can't say that about women's basketball.

I would say improve the show.
Every sports league has made attempts to improve offense and scoring.
- NFL is a passing league now, running backs are basically going extinct.
- The NBA is scoring points all over the place.
- MLB has done things to improve the pace of play and seems to have a love/hate relationship with the steroid era but still promotes it on youtube.
Formula One has grabbed a whole new audience with the reality show but I'm sure the suits at Liberty Media are kicking themselves with the Red Bull has ran away with this season left it rather boring and they are probably scrambling to fix it before IndyCar starts learning how to eat into their audience.
The women scoff at 9' 5" rims but if that shit gives us 120-115 scores, drunks, blocks, alley-opps, more attention, more revenue and ultimately more money, those women surely won't scoff at the checks.
Everyone's entitled to their opinion but let's be honest.
Most NBA basketball games aren't exciting and the players CAN dunk.
Unless it's a good matchup or players that you like or are exciting, most NBA games aren't that exciting. We watch because it's basketball and we like basketball.
Most NBA games don't have us on the edge of our seats and if we're being honest, lately the regular season's been boring and we're just waiting for the playoffs.

And realistically, no one wants to see women dunk and no one wants to see women dunking on other women. It's just an excuse that's used to say what WNBA basketball's lacking.
The truth is, they don't want to see women especially WNBA women play basketball.
People will watch women's college basketball because they already have built in fanbases but when players graduate. Their fanbases stay with the school.
The WNBA have the best female basketball players in the world and if you aren't entertained by them, then you aren't interested in women's professional basketball.
I'll agree with you in maybe if the scoring averages increased then it could be more exciting.
It goes back to my softball vs baseball example and how the differences between the sports play to a woman's advantage.

At 43 feet, a 65-mile-an-hour fastball from a softball pitcher is the equivalent of a baseball pitcher hitting 100 from 60 feet 6 inches and the women have even less time to react it. (hell the reason the softball is neon is to improve its visibility, it used to be white like baseballs in the 90s).
With basketball, you're essentially using the same court, same lines (WNBA plays with FIBA lines) and the ball is slightly smaller but most girl ballers are growing up playing with and training with a men's ball and because everything is essentially the same, the women's game looks awkward compared to the men

But see that should not be the question if they(women) are the ones that are complaining about compensation and fair treatment. If there’s no racism sexism prejudice classism involved and they show how the numbers drive the pay; then watch so that pay can be higher. Simple as that. You want equal pay then support your women sports….
Women aren't a monolith and don't watch everything with women in it or everything women related just because there's women doing it.
The majority of women aren't watching women's dart throwing, women's synchronized swimming or women's rowing just because there's women in it.
All women's sports have to find a way to attract women viewers and fans.
The WNBA just don't know how.
And they definitely shouldn't be talking about pay when their league isn't profitable. Someone needs to sit those women down and tell them the real.
mens NCAA routinely averages less than 100 points and its a religion in most of the country.
