It never got to that point with my folks, but lots of emotional abuse on either side. Pops was a depressed alcoholic (sober for 27 years now) and that didn't help either. Having to be on eggshells around him.

I told him in the early-2000s after a heated argument that we had and once tempers cooled that I was GLAD he never struck my mom. Said I didn't know what I would have done, and said I may have beaten the shit out of him, or worse.
