Three takeaways from Coach Prime Season 2: Episode 1 'We Coming'

Deion Sanders' journey to Boulder and the lead up to the start of his first Power Five season

Josh Tolle13 hours ago
The episode starts out with Coach Prime going into his Louis Luggage speech with a powerful intro of the players. It goes into a scenic vibe with an explanation of what happened with Sanders coming to Boulder.

It feels like a calm before the storm with Prime and Shedeur Sanders touring the Champions Center. He dives into an introspective piece about how he never thought he would be a coach and said, "It's not about my plans, it's about God's." He went on to say, "Even with all my accomplishments, I still don't feel like I arrived."

EXCLUSIVE Deion Sanders: "We're playing a game of life that we gotta win"

Sanders met with the players to pick numbers and talked about how nobody was going to wear the zero on a jersey, because "That means you're nothing." Here are three takeaways from the first two episodes of Coach Prime Season 2 on Amazon Video.

Sanders said he "felt the spirit of losing" when he got to Boulder

There's no secret about how bad Colorado Football has been over the past two decades. This was well-documented from several people to open up the season and it was tough to watch the blowout highlights from 2022. "I was almost shocked at what I saw," Buffaloes defensive coordinator Charles Kelly said. "This wasn't the Colorado I remembered."

Something that stood out was how bad CU was and how in comparison this year didn't feel so terrible. I know we're not far removed but to see some of the awful plays from the Karl Dorrell era was a reminder of the Buffs starting to turn a corner.

Rick George became a secret agent trying to pull Sanders into CU

When Coach Prime was lifted from Jackson State, it was a "say less" ordeal from day one. George was flying into New Orleans and driving to Jackson and using hotels in different names so he was untraceable. It was different from any other process in CU history. George recognized the significance of having Sanders in Boulder and what that meant for the state of the program. Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was the demise for the Buffs. George was the man who put everything back on trac

Peggy and Prime stole the show

The end of the episode was a deeper look into the life of CU's 99-year-old superfan Peggy Coppom. It showed a behind-the-scenes moment with the 'Buffs Twin' at the Spring Game with Coach Prime. We often forget about how much adversity Sanders faced even before the start of the season. A group of transfer portal dropouts and restocking the roster with better talent. He did that with people doubting his abilities. It was a great start to the new season of the docuseries.

Damn he went there and did it

Deion is that guy…

I was skeptical of Prime attracting talent on the Oline after O’Boyle left but it appears that Prime is bringing in a Oline coach “that has done it at all levels”.

How good is Travis Brown and the OLine transfer from Jackson?

I love what the young man said “How can you not want to play for someone who looks like you”
Real talk… this one of the reason I pulled for dude even more.
Last year folks was hating on the situations… saying he could not do this or that…

The wins didn’t happen but everything else did…

Think about this O’Boyle was 70 to 80 percent in charge of the Lineman that came last year…

I don’t think Tyler would’ve made a huge difference… that was a completely different scheme… so it was gonna take time

The new dude from JSU, don’t seem like he played much…so idk

I thought they was gonna get the oline coach who was with Jordan at IMG.

But they went a different route and still landed Jordan

There is a lot of smoke that he may indeed flip. I just can’t see him signing with Oregon after what he said on TV. So I will just shoot those rumors down

^^^^^White folks are bigtime mad at this pick up
Naw not really. Some people want to make it a black and white thing to give it to Crackas..lol

The teams those Cracka root for rosters are loaded with blue chip players in this class.

CU is one of the few schools that can give O linemen playing time early.

Colorado jumps in On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings

Collin Ginnan
Deion Sanders and his staff at Colorado made a big splash on Thursday. Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy Five-Star Plus+ offensive tackle Jordan Seaton announced his commitment to Colorado, and the Buffaloes skyrocketed in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

With the addition of Seaton, Colorado moved from No. 45 to No. 27 in the rankings. The Washington, D.C. native chose the Buffaloes over the likes of Alabama, Tennessee, Florida, Maryland, Ohio State and Oregon.

“When I make my decision, one thing that is very important to me is where I live,” Seaton told On3 about Colorado in November. “You only play football so many days of the year, so I want to be somewhere that I like living. The surroundings at Colorado definitely stand out. When you think of Colorado, you think of buffaloes and mountains. But you can go 15 minutes off campus and there is a big city like I am back home. The whole environment at Colorado is something I like.”

Seaton is the No. 12 overall prospect and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 4 player in Florida.

Buffs bolster 2024 class

Seaton is just the latest blue-chip recruit to commit to Sanders and the Buffs. Most recently, Colorado added Statesboro (Ga.) four-star cornerback Kam Mikell — the No. 88 recruit in the class.

“Coach Prime and his marketing was a big part of my decision,” Mikell said. “He can really help with my brand. Coach Prime also has played all the sports I have played, he has played both sides of the ball like me and I know he can really help me. He has been in a lot of the situations I have been in, so I believe in him coaching me and helping me develop.”

Additional blue-chips include Calabasas (Calif.) four-star athlete Aaron Butler and West Bloomfield (Mich.) four-star defensive lineman Brandon Davis-Swain.

Naw bruh....there is a not so subtle hate against Deion and Colorado due to blackness.....
They are sort of a modern day black America's team

Like the old Hoyas
The Fab 5

Trust me it is mainly about race.

Mann I’m thinking about this…

Dude announced on Undisputed, then made his rounds to other friends of Deion…

I remember Keyshawn telling him, he’s do whatever it took to help him.
You know Irving is 10 toes down with him…

This shit is really next level…
That NIL money gets there it’s no telling what will happened…

Looks to me like Prime didn't just recruit a player, he recruited a partner. Bruh said on Undisputed "if you say you're a dawg, why aint you coming to CU?" LMBAO

He gets it…

If prime can get two of those portal defensive linemen

And another plug and play tackle…
That would round out the 2024 class in ranking that many folks claimed was not possible…
