I'm not going to read all of it, but a lot of it is people don't realize you can set the regenerative braking settings to a lower setting in most cars and the sensation will lessen or go away. Some of them can go so high that you can drive the car without ever touching the brake pedal if you wanted to.
that one pedal driving is fire lol.

For the first time, I'm really thinking about getting an electric car as a second vehicle.

I don't want a Model 3, but they are so cheap right now!! Going for low to mid $20,000 range w/ very low miles.

Not even sure what I'd want to get. Not Tesla and not some goofy looking EV. Subaru has an EV wagon that's decent.
Kinda funky looking, but I like it.

Yeah.... They lose so much value so quickly!!! If I buy one, it will be on w/ 20K miles on it w/ factory warranty left. Get one that's two, maybe three years old and get more than half off the price when it was new.

Hertz has some insane deals on all kinds of EVs. There is a Fisker Ocean w/ 3K miles on it for 20K that I have my eye on.

Just worry about getting it serviced.

Fisker was having finanical issue some months ago,i havent kept up with them much lately. But if you buy Fisker, there might be no support for it.

I have seen 4 Lyriqs in the Bucks County region and 1 on 76 heading towards Valley Forge. I was in LA a few summer ago and remember being bombarded with Rivians everywhere. It’s a blessing to see the Kia’s and Hyundais on the road doing their thing. It’s bittersweet at the Superchargers but it’s humbling to see the slow demise of the gas station.

Saw some articles recently (locally) wherein EV drivers were surprised at the cost of replacement batteries for certain cars.

"I didn't realize batteries cost that much!"

Jesus ... I was half expecting someone to comment - "I thought they only cost like $50 - 200."

If i have to look at it.. they caught people at home during the plandemic and had people really believing in this ev shit...and then once people were able to go outside and move around again they was like fuck that.. then this past extreme cold winter people saw what that battery do in extreme temperatures!

Wake up call for many new to that shit! Hell even when hertz came out and said its to expensive to own that shit... that should be enough for many to see stuff they may didnt understand at first!

Agreed.

Some additional side notes ...

We have a shitload of EV drivers in and around Vancouver. Or so it seems. Many of them live in high rises & condos. Many of said older apt and condo buildings don't have dedicated charging stations in their parkades.

We have some of the worst traffic in North America as well. Early rush hour and all that. Some of the worst gas prices in North America too (high prices to begin with, and all the additional carbon / transit tax shit they tack on for good measure).

There are limited charging stations available around the city & neighboring regions too.

I'm just glad I drive an economical car & commute during off-peak hours. I hardly have any stop and go traffic at all. Mostly green wave with little to no braking. The life of the car is extended in the process.

Americans are so fucking dumb they be like "ohhhh I can watch some youtube videos and it'll be ok". Same for people buying 18 wheeler tractor trailers with no trucking industry when companies that are 50 years old are going on.
