Thats true they let it go until the very end in MMA but this stoppage was consistent with what we usually see in boxing.
Either way, Conor was done, Floyd was about to knock him out of the ring. I wish the ref had let Floyd get his KO victory.
Im also sure that part of the deal was that the ref would not let Conor take too much punishment because he still belongs to the UFC and Dana White doesnt want his biggest asset damaged.

Like it was said, Floyd could have been boxing a baby in the ring and would have let him tire out first then go for the kill. It just took McGregor a good 3.5 rounds to get there. That speaks volumes to Floyd's stamina

Skip has a point. Floyd got caught with a hard body blow but the ref stepped in and called it a low blow. When I looked back at it tho, it was a legal punch. Floyd was hurt by it.
