Also she mixed up her flight patterns. When she attacked the Wise Masters fleet in Mereen during the Battle of the Bastards episode, she stayed up in the air and attacked from above for the vast majority of that battle.But tonight, she dove from above... and also came in low & fast... from behind... from the sides.
Basically she rode Drogon like fighter pilot in a dogfight... whereas she usually rides him like a helicopter and just hovers above, in front of her targets.

They didnt know she was coming. The first attack was a planned ambush. This episode they were there to engage ships. Euron was surprised she came out of the cloud and had to adjust the scorpion to key on her. Once he missed he ordered them all to readjust aim.. The scorpion are clunkly manual machines that were not aimed at her and were focused at sea level. She had advantage of surprise.
Dany dodged a scorpion in the previous episode. Don’t tell me euron has to hit her for sure. After she dodged and got inside it’s a wrap. Only reason they got her other dragon is because they were ambushed.
She was flying low and got blind sided by an attack of concerted scorpion spears aimed at her in waiting. Thats an ambush, yes?

Euron... the LEADER of the entire Iron Fleet... was doing some other shit... like he was loading the ships... when he glances up in the sky and sees her (at the last minute) dive-bombing his ass.
If they were just waiting for her... Euron would not have been caught so off-guard.
