@VAiz4hustlaz @Heavenlywings77 Thanks for trying to explain to these cretans

lmao They don't have to be "cretins." Just a difference of opinion. People are having this same discussion all over the internet this week. I'm still a fan of the show but the plot lines and character development are a big part of what made it stellar. Now it's just simple entertainment. Episode 5 would have been stellar if it had been preceded by a full season of Dany's mental breakdown and more evidence that she would snap when she heard the surrender bells.

Hey, no one is giving Cersei an A for her leadership skills. All I am saying is she wasn't that great of a ruler but she wasn't a bad ruler, she wasn't going around burning people alive, she would arrest your ass, send you to the wall or strip you of your property.

I can't agree with the highlighted part. She absolutely burned mad people alive.

Which of y’all felt sorry for Cersei... cause i sure in the fuck didn’t. Still pissed she got off easy... I’m hoping she’s trapped and the rubble and Dany goes and looks for her body, then finishes her off!

Dany was never a villain , but her character has always been that of a anti-hero! And even tho she just burned down Kings Landing , still she’s not a villain. Smh

It would have been so fucking dope if Cersei and Jaime escaped and went to Bravos and were never seen again.
That would have been an ill way to subvert expectations. Instead a building fell on them. Smh.

Here's the silliest thing of all about "Mad Dany"
Can anyone explain why she didn't go straight towards Cersei?

Let's think about this honestly. At that point who is she more mad it? The women and children running for their lives or Cersei?

She looks at the tower where Cersei is and then burns the people on the ground? Huh?
She wanted to make it personal so she burned women and children? Huh?
She had no desire to look Cersei in the face before roasting her?
This is the person that just killed your best friend, chopped her head off, and made you watch.
The person responsible for killing another one of your dragons.
The person whose brother was responsible for killing your father.
There person who swore to fight by your side against the NK and broke her promise.

She was far more harsher with the people on the ground than Cersei.
That's all you need to know to realize the narrative was bullshit!

Fuck outta here!

:roflmao3: The irony of that is Cersei did the very thing everyone vilified the Mad King for saying he was gonna do.

The show made you think Cersei was some poor ol innocent pregnant WHITE lady that lost the battle against some ruthless blood thrusty monster with a dragon and NINJAS and other FOREIGNERS.
Peek the subtle messages here...

They had Cersei and Jamie hugged up and crying..

I dont feel sorry for Cersei but she was never a villain either. Throughout the series she has just been trying to get power and making dumb decisions that would come backbite her in the ass later. She was literally playing the game of thrones, and whoever wins next week will have to deal with all the same corruption and bullshit that comes with being king or queen.

It could have even been better if the actress was given more to do in this episode to drive home her madness. Not just "not eating or sleeping".
Just saying.

Word!! She looked like one of those becky's who called the cops on a black person then when shit don't go her way she starts crying.
Hahaha. Where is that gif?

They had Cersei up there playing the ultimate crying becky role.

 You did see that both of her hands were chained and linked to chains on her feet, right? How was she(who's not a fighter at all) supposed to "pull the bitch over the side?"

Plus the only real exchange with greyworm this season:

Mel: my people are peaceful we cant protect ourselves.

Grey: my people are not peaceful.

Other than Blowing up the sept what did Cersei do that was so bad. She was not the one who killed John Aryn, nor was she the one who ordered the death of the Baratheon bastards. At first the show tried to make us think she did all that but it wasn't. The show has just make her not a likeable character.

Think about that shit! This is Cersei we're talkin about here. One of the dirtiest characters on the entire show and they made her look like this poor ol innocent pregnant WHITE victim.

The same WHITE bitch that had no problem executing a BLACK women who's hands were tied like a dog...Afterwards stood up there smiling.

I kinda feel that....I dont know if I can go as far as to say she was never a villain though. Having a purpose doesn't make you not a villain. The Night King had a purpose but he was also a villain in the context of this show. Cersei blowing up the sept just to get power pretty much removed any doubt as to whether or not she was a villain. Dany burning the city does the same. But I do agree overall that thats the show....people doing things for power....and whether or not you like that particular character shades how you see their actions. (I aint sayin you liked Cersei)

To the point above about a building falling on Cersei and Jaime...I think there is some poetic justice in it. The Red Keep...the building they did so much to remain in....comes down on top of them. I wanted a different ending for them....but I'll take that.

I tell people this all the time. Good or bad on this show is usually perspective.

The most evil people are indeed that no question; everyone else just depends on your outlook.

Her lines this season told it all. If you actually listen to what shes been saying this whole season, damn near everything she said was on point and that dialogue coupled with what we saw her lose....it all makes sense. Don't need to see her pulling her hair out and talking to herself to get what was going on.

That's not how I took it.

I thought her evolution was perfect. She was overly confident and arrogant almost to the very end... but when he came down to it, she was begging Jaime to save her.... crying, isolated, weak, and with her entire "house" literally falling down on top of her.

This. None of it had to go that way....but just like she did with the High Sparrow and the Faith Militant, she thought she was smarter than she was. She goaded Dany into attacking thinking she would have the upper hand and didnt realize til it was too late that she pushed her too far and was about to die for it.

You can go by that metric if thats you. Im an original thought kinda guy myself. But these are opinions. Every one in the world sharing an opinion doesnt make it fact. Views on a tv show are all 100% subjective.

Because the Dragons "could" be killed, she was confident that it was all good....completely underestimating if anything went wrong, Dany could destroy the entire city all by herself.

But I don't really blame Cersei.... she knew if she bent the knee, she was dead....so she just leaned on what's always worked for her. I don't even look at her from a moral lense.. i look at her as just doing what thought she had to do to survive it all.

She was indeed a villain, in part due to the influence she had over other people, from Jaime to Joffrey to Qyburn to Euron to even the Mountain. But Cersei wasn't necessarily about the ruthless pursuit of power as much as she was about self-preservation and her own ego, and using other people to those ends. In a sense she was a tragic character because she felt powerless due to Tywin's using her as a "brood mare", and a tool to further the Lannister name.

It could have even been better if the actress was given more to do in this episode to drive home her madness. Not just "not eating or sleeping".

Yes. More to do during the whole season really, to drive her to that point. It's funny to me because I think when she "snapped" was some of the best acting I've seen from Emilia Clarke on the show.

this begs the question....why are so many people backin' jon show to sit on the iron throne....

thanks to sansa and tyrion....everyone knows he's a targaryen...

and everyone also knows there's a 50/50 chance the targaryens are gonna grow up to be batshit crazy..due to years of inbreedin'...

so why would you wanna kill one targaryen...and replace her with ANOTHER targaryen??

and prediction...arya is gonna be the one to kill Danaerys...

and side note...i heard there's gonna be a 7th episode....

I actually think beheading Missandei was kind of out-of-character for Cersei. Would have made more sense to use her as a bargaining chip, and Cersei tended to kill people she had personal beef with.

Basically. Thats how i saw it.

Her plan was as good as it could be.

100 scorpions, the bigger army. Use the people as human civilian sheilds.

What else could any of you have done better to keep kings landing?

At that point, what bargaining was going to be done? Wasn't that all a formality anyway as pretty much everyone knew war as inevitable??

I thought that a pure Cersei move solely to piss on the "Dragon bitch".

She was sadistic like that... remember she got mad as Jaime because she didn't kill Olenna Tyrell the way that she wanted her to die. Lady Tyrell dying wasn't enough for her...she wanted her to suffer.

Because he doesn't want it. Because he's not power-hungry. Because he has a sense of justice and trying to do the right thing. And because he's not full inbred Targaryen. He's a product of the North and South, ice and fire.

I can see Arya doing it. They're making her out to be a big hero for some reason. She must be the most popular character or something.

A 7th episode? One other than the behind-the-scenes doc set for the 26th?

It was a good play, but she was betting on things she didnt really have enough control over. Her wager was that they could kill the dragon and/or if Dany did attack the people would see her as a conqueror who killed civilians. What she didnt account for was Dany leaning into that and making fear her play. Dany's resolve was fuck it if they aint ever gonna love me Im gonna burn a hole so deep in their memory that they will never try me.

True. Good point. She liked to hurt people on a personal level, based on something or someone they loved.

Poor Cersei,

She had her "house" fall on her while in the embrace and comfort of someone that loves her....Saying it's okay as long as we're together!

Meanwhile, Mersendi in the cold grips of chains(shackled) like Danyi had found her in-chains from her previous white slave owners, dies shackled, and alone. Head cut off like a dog simply to make a point and gloat about!!

See what you want to see but the imaginary is clear!

Not every character gets a death that is sadistic and in line with what they have done. Many good characters got horrible deaths while many bad characters didn’t get deaths in line with what people thought they should get. It’s GoT. People are acting as if fan service has been a thing they always do in the series.
