None of that applies to a minor. The father made the purchases and was ultimately responsible for properly securing the rifle. Yes, I do….. in Kemp gun bill he put in a huge loophole where he said children cannot have handguns, but he didn’t say anything about rifles (AR 15s are rifles).
You know nothing about gun laws. No minor is allowed to own or purchase any firearms. Rifles can be purchased at the age of 18 and handguns at 21. Until an individual reaches the appropriate age, they are required to be under adult supervision.
If you don't want to believe me or any of the other members in here who own firearms and are aware of the gun laws, then do yourself a favor and reach out to Philip Smith or any of the leadership team members of the Bass Reaves Gun Club based out of Atlanta which happens to be the largest black gun club chapter in the largest black gun club in the country

Your reading comprehension needs work. I said minors are not allowed to own or purchase. Possession does not equate to either of those. Otherwise they wouldn't be able to participate in hunting or compete in competition. They can possess it but still under adult supervision as the adult is ultimately responsible for the child as well as the weapon. You can not own a firearm if you can't complete the form required to purchase a firearm and perform a background check. Purchasing and owning a firearm are tied together 100%.I beg to differ…..

A 15 year-old cannot purchase an AR 15 on paper, but in Georgia, especially North Georgia. That rule do not apply. I have no problem with this... By the way, he's not the first parent to be charged. The parents in the Michigan shooting were charged, and the mother of the boy who shot the elementary teacher was also charged.

If the kid got a gun from his friends or online (ghost gun) that's one thing.
Using a gun the parents knew about to commit crimes is another, if reasonable measures were not taken to ensure kid only has proper access.
Kids grab guns that adults have laying around and shoot themselves or others a lot down here, and when they do the owner gets charged.
Parents should be charged for the criminal offenses of their minor children.

You tried to rebuttal me multiple times when I clearly stated a minor is not allowed to own or purchase a firearm of any kind including rifles. I also clearly stated minors are required to be under adult supervision when in possession of any firearms and pointed out hunting and shooting competitions as examples for when a minor can be in possession of a firearm. AND I provided you contact information for the largest black gun club chapter within the largest black gun club organization in the country.
Yet here you stand trying to save face cuz you refuse to stand back and acknowledge that you don't know as much as you think you know. This is not the 1st nor will it be the last time this happens cuz you always have to be right and are so desperate for attention thinking you're the BGOL SME for every topic. I wouldn't say in every case, but where negligence can be proved such as using a parent's weapon that should have been secured, yes.
100%. If you can't be responsible and raise your kids to have that same level of responsibility then it falls on you to suffer the consequences of their actions

To further solidify my recent reply. I never brought up the point of him, obtaining the gun. I brought up the point that he’s allowed to have the rifle. A police officer is not going to stop him and ask him how did he got that rifle especially with his skin color.
