Grown Talk: Should Black Men show each other more respect/brotherhood?

I notice that brothers really ain't cool with each other.

Thinking this is really hurting us...and they using this division more and more.

And I ain't even talking about street level stuff either.

Corporate level and just regular business environment.

Just walking down the street giving a head nod.

Dudes in the same neighborhood same buildings, etc. don't even acknowledge each other.

But will mean mug.

But the other don't do that.

Am I tripping?

I'm just saying imagine if Black men especially in light of recent events started acknowledging each other...

it seems unlike MANY other groups we can NEVER find some type of consensus to truly unite on and we can never vote together.

So maybe if we started building at just that simple basic level t would make a difference?

I think everyone had different experiences, as I mature I notice I get a lot of head nods and acknowledgement from bruhs especially those thirty and over...

we do need to do more but we all have to understand the machine that is working day and night to keep us divided..

too many of us give into that machine, instead of working on building one that works for us and not against us..

if we all play a small part in building this machine, little by little we will see it play out for our future generations..

and it all starts with love for self then love for our people..

too many of us dont love ourselves... and give into the machine workin against us..

I do see that changing for the better..

slowly ...

If I could go now, I'd leave and live in the Virgin Islands, that place was amazing.

black people in general need to show each other more respect. cant tell you how many times i've checked out at a grocery store and the black cashier has a life talk with the cac checking out. Then a black person after them check out and they cant even fucking say hi. Or when entering a department store and the cac in front of you gets the"how are yall today". the black person after them gets nothing. Too many black people trying to impress white folks.

This shit is unfortunate. It seems that you have to be part of a black organization to get any respect from your fellow black man. I’ve seen this and shake my head. White folks and other races are paying attention, too. The see the lack of respect we show each other and act accordingly. It’s really unfortunate. If you walk out your house and you mean mug the first black person you see, you’re part of the problem.

Thats one thing the women have over many of us. They have a sisterhood and circle the wagon for one another.....Most of us are just out here floating around in our own orbits. :smh:

Fam,

Ya'll know I have a baby with Sickle Cell Disease, in fact she is just back in the hospital again second time in a month.

Just wanted to ask for my bgol fam to do what they do and assist us in getting support for the Sickle Cell Assembly Bill in New York State...

If ya' ll can all send a tweet or on Facebook

and tell Governor Cuomo to support this bill it would be a blessing.

I KNOW many of ya'll don't vote.

I understand.

But this is making these government officials actually DO THEIR JOBS

and help THOUSANDS of children and young adults

MANY of them Black to get treatment and support

I keep telling ya'll BGOL is MUCH MORE then an internet board.

Peace fam and thank you for your support...

sample tweet...

Please take a moment today (and every day!) to tweet Governor Andrew Cuomo to approve funding for sickle cell!

Black Men do and always have. It's the want to be gangsters and the " I gotta degree but I am still hood " brothers that don't. The one thing that puts shade on Black men are those brothers that put other brothers down for profit and those that are constantly wrong but still have that " but you can't kick my azz " / " so what ya gonna do about it " attitude.
