Do you believe we can excel and or win against any adversary the way we are today? If your answer is no you have your answer. If your answer is yes you obviously took the blue pill, seek help.
I've been looking for this thread
What's wrong with how are we today?
This new search function is on point. I didn't even have to look further than two pages before I found this thread with search terms: black, men, greeting.
You can't be serious. As we exist today our biggest adversary is us.
Our race is not united. Where's the willingness to sacrifice for a cause? You already know it doesn't exist. Reparations can be had if we fought for them as a people. We all have the same struggle but refuse to join together and demand what should've been ours decades ago. But you know what its easier to blame Obama. Obama is the POTUS he is not nor ever was the Black Messiah. He was elected to run this country, not lead us to the promised land.
If a cat is walking around dressed differently how is he received? Let's say he's dressed in African garb do you look down upon him? What about a dude in a suit? Many of us don't even like the older people within our race and sometimes family.
The willingness to accept and embrace people as they are doesn't exist. But don't take this too personally because I've witnessed the same thing coming from the people from the islands. They too are guilty. I'm saying we need to do better as a race and I stand behind my statement.
I remember that head nod or wassup was mandatory back in the day. It was an acknowledgement of our solidarity.
^^^^
We need to bring it back
you want to see something interesting?
JUST do the head nod to brothers in the presence of a white person.
and EXCLUDE them
Tell me what you see happens...
I try to make a point to give eye contact and the nod when in passing to one of my bruhs.
It's funny cuz my nod is always upward to younger / same age cats.
I nod low to elders
Absolutely.my brother is 6 years older than me and I swear he knew the whole world.... But realistically they all just greeted each other.I remember that head nod or wassup was mandatory back in the day. It was an acknowledgement of our solidarity.
.....
man white folk don't know how to act
cause whenever a white person says something about Westbrook, Cam or Wade?
I say what's the problem?
crickets.
They hated the dab, I did that shit 3 times a day before every meal JUST to make them uncomfortable.
they aint slick fam.
this is just my PERSONAL opinion but we make THEM way to comfortable talking about US.
So I make sure its NOT that at all times.
I made sure to support MJ donating that money because I KNEW cacs would try to slip in and take shots on a matter that REALLY doesn't concern them cause they REALLY don't care.
I don't talk bad about Obama in front of cacs.
I make sure to ALWAYS address my brothers and sisters with EXTRA respect ESPECIALLY in front of cacs.
good morning brother, how are you sister, opening doors hand shakes head nods smiles
On some Wakanda...
try it?
See how how white folk react to tit.
You will see it...they don't WANT us to be loving and civil to each other.
And when they try to talk about Barkley and Sherman of what do you think about what they said...see I can understand there viewpoint I shut that sh*t down with the quickness.
again that is just me.
^^^Whenever,I go on the city bus and the bus driver is black I always say "Have a good night ",good weekend and etc when I get off... 98% I get the same back.....
^^^
that is EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
I've been doing that for awhile now....I really don't talk to the driver unless they see me alot and they asked how I'm doing, but overall I go out my way to say good morning and all stuff.
What surprised me is that I see alot of teenagers doing it also...
i miss this...
i notice that alot of older black men still will will make a point to nod or say hi in passing
but everyone else
i remember there was a time that if you had a class, or was out somewhere and blacks were minorities they automaticlly cliqued up
in college there was always a black table at the dinning hall
at work if there was another black chick around my age we would end up taking breaks and lunch together
its like we used to seek eachother out and found comfort and support in eachother...especially if we in a situation where we were the minority
not anymore...
you can walk past a black person and they barely acknowledge you...or even worse go out of their way to avoid you
helped some brother out this morning with their cars JUST off the strength...
if you a see a brother or sister in need today please try and do the same.

I did something similar last week, this dude needed to go on the bus and I gave him a bus pass, since I have so many

No, you are not tripping. We might have to 'sticky' this topic. It needs to be addressed.I notice that brothers really ain't cool with each other.
Thinking this is really hurting us...and they using this division more and more.
And I ain't even talking about street level stuff either.
Corporate level and just regular business environment.
Just walking down the street giving a head nod.
Dudes in the same neighborhood same buildings, etc. don't even acknowledge each other.
But will mean mug.
But the other don't do that.
Am I tripping?
I'm just saying imagine if Black men especially in light of recent events started acknowledging each other...
it seems unlike MANY other groups we can NEVER find some type of consensus to truly unite on and we can never vote together.
So maybe if we started building at just that simple basic level t would make a difference?
I have homes in NYC, NJ, & New Orleans. It seems to be a northern thing. Black folk speak in NOLA.y'all must live up north.. black men still speak around here.
if it's only a head nod...
it's not like it used to be but 85 percent of the time you at least get that.
Usually greet cats w/ a simple "what set u from?"
