Do you believe we can excel and or win against any adversary the way we are today? If your answer is no you have your answer. If your answer is yes you obviously took the blue pill, seek help.

What's wrong with how are we today?

You can't be serious. As we exist today our biggest adversary is us.

Our race is not united. Where's the willingness to sacrifice for a cause? You already know it doesn't exist. Reparations can be had if we fought for them as a people. We all have the same struggle but refuse to join together and demand what should've been ours decades ago. But you know what its easier to blame Obama. Obama is the POTUS he is not nor ever was the Black Messiah. He was elected to run this country, not lead us to the promised land.

If a cat is walking around dressed differently how is he received? Let's say he's dressed in African garb do you look down upon him? What about a dude in a suit? Many of us don't even like the older people within our race and sometimes family.

The willingness to accept and embrace people as they are doesn't exist. But don't take this too personally because I've witnessed the same thing coming from the people from the islands. They too are guilty. I'm saying we need to do better as a race and I stand behind my statement.

Ok.

Your comment was pretty vague I wanted you to explain further what you meant.

As for us being united. I agree/disagree to a certain extent. There is black solidarity. Black lives matter movement shows that.

However, a willingness to sacrifices is where things taper. Not just any sacrifice but the necessary unpopular sacrifices that needs to be made aren't happening. Nobody likes to sacrifice.

As long as we are more conerned with the pursuit of pleaure, entertainment and buying things, than our freedom and humanity the necessary sacrifices can't be made.

As long as black people havent found what they are willing to die for they will not be fit to live.

man white folk don't know how to act

cause whenever a white person says something about Westbrook, Cam or Wade?

I say what's the problem?

crickets.

They hated the dab, I did that shit 3 times a day before every meal JUST to make them uncomfortable.

they aint slick fam.

this is just my PERSONAL opinion but we make THEM way to comfortable talking about US.

So I make sure its NOT that at all times.

I made sure to support MJ donating that money because I KNEW cacs would try to slip in and take shots on a matter that REALLY doesn't concern them cause they REALLY don't care.

I don't talk bad about Obama in front of cacs.

I make sure to ALWAYS address my brothers and sisters with EXTRA respect ESPECIALLY in front of cacs.

good morning brother, how are you sister, opening doors hand shakes head nods smiles

On some Wakanda...

try it?

See how how white folk react to tit.

You will see it...they don't WANT us to be loving and civil to each other.

And when they try to talk about Barkley and Sherman of what do you think about what they said...see I can understand there viewpoint I shut that sh*t down with the quickness.

again that is just me.

We need to bring it back

you want to see something interesting?

JUST do the head nod to brothers in the presence of a white person.

and EXCLUDE them

Tell me what you see happens...

I try to make a point to give eye contact and the nod when in passing to one of my bruhs.

It's funny cuz my nod is always upward to younger / same age cats.

I nod low to elders

I remember that head nod or wassup was mandatory back in the day. It was an acknowledgement of our solidarity.
Absolutely.my brother is 6 years older than me and I swear he knew the whole world.... But realistically they all just greeted each other.

My rule of thumb if eye contact is made with brothers its a nod motion down for older folks and a nod up for my peers or younger. With women it's just a smile.

I thing its a mostly age and generational thing. Also location. Most times I roll up and I'll say how you brothers doing or peace to you brothers and from there its all good. If I see young cats I'll say how you young brothers doing? Same love. Now depending on where I am there will be some motherfuckers bristling with anger, to them fuckers I just make eye contact, still speak and keep it moving. This ain't the 70's no more, mf is packing heat and artillery. Me too but I'm not initiating a shoot out at the OK Coral. Sad, but it is what it is.

that is EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

I've been doing that for awhile now....I really don't talk to the driver unless they see me alot and they asked how I'm doing, but overall I go out my way to say good morning and all stuff.

What surprised me is that I see alot of teenagers doing it also...

i miss this...

i notice that alot of older black men still will will make a point to nod or say hi in passing

but everyone else :smh:

i remember there was a time that if you had a class, or was out somewhere and blacks were minorities they automaticlly cliqued up

in college there was always a black table at the dinning hall

at work if there was another black chick around my age we would end up taking breaks and lunch together

its like we used to seek eachother out and found comfort and support in eachother...especially if we in a situation where we were the minority

not anymore...

you can walk past a black person and they barely acknowledge you...or even worse go out of their way to avoid you:smh:

in fairness i thought black women did not want to be acknowledged, i thought you were afraid every person that said hello passing you by would be trying to fuck...

then that "don't ask me to smile" movement by black women... people accepted it and women were given the cold shoulder in a lot of places.

as far as in general, no. most don't respect themselves yet you want them to respect others...

There was a time when brotha's give each other sum respect, then the crack blizzard came and shit been twisted ever since!! Ive noticed that blacks eyeball eachother as if their enemies, but will turn around and smile it up in front of white folks.. not all but sum... I point at the crack era, that was when the black community started imploding on itself!! If we really dig into it, it started in the 60's with a slow burn.. After the short lived "Black Power" era things started getting a little shaky!!

helped some brother out this morning with their cars JUST off the strength...

if you a see a brother or sister in need today please try and do the same.

Good plan, bro!! Start off doing small things, just to get in the mindset of helping each other!! Then you can amp it up and do sum big things that will get people thinking!!

I notice that brothers really ain't cool with each other.

Thinking this is really hurting us...and they using this division more and more.

And I ain't even talking about street level stuff either.

Corporate level and just regular business environment.

Just walking down the street giving a head nod.

Dudes in the same neighborhood same buildings, etc. don't even acknowledge each other.

But will mean mug.

But the other don't do that.

Am I tripping?

I'm just saying imagine if Black men especially in light of recent events started acknowledging each other...

it seems unlike MANY other groups we can NEVER find some type of consensus to truly unite on and we can never vote together.

So maybe if we started building at just that simple basic level t would make a difference?
No, you are not tripping. We might have to 'sticky' this topic. It needs to be addressed.

y'all must live up north.. black men still speak around here.

if it's only a head nod...

it's not like it used to be but 85 percent of the time you at least get that.
I have homes in NYC, NJ, & New Orleans. It seems to be a northern thing. Black folk speak in NOLA.

There are people in life who carry negative energy, many of them don't even realize..
Sometimes its their lack of manners, the aggressive manner in their voice especially with those who believe that being hard will protect them in life.
I grew up in Brooklyn and L.A. in the hood so I am well aware of this myth and will admit to doing it to an extent when I was younger for what I thought was protection..
But now that I am older I realize that the biggest thing that can save you from unnecessary beef is respecting others and getting rid of negaivive vibes..
A good example of this is me and my brother, he would get into fights when ever he played ball, and he was a scrub, in his eyes the world was against him.
Me I was a baller and would play hard but everyone respected me and the way I played sure I fouled but it was all part of the game, plus I never cried when I got fouled back. No matter what win lose or draw my opponent always gave me dapps and respect for a good hard fought game.
My brother have the same problems with women and people he meet.. Ol boy almost started a bar fight the last time he was in Brooklyn lol..
But for the most part most brothers in the hood do respect each others, that is if you show them the same respect back, but instead we are lied to and taught that the only way we get respect is by acting aggressive and hard..
Looking back at things, all the kats I grew up with that were ultra hard mostly died off early or got locked up, while the so called soft ones all grew up with no problems..
In today's world especially with aggressive trigger happy cops and aggressive trigger happy thugs all it takes is a certain look, or an aggressive way of saying something to set them off, with these people the best way to deal with them is by remaining as calm as possible..
(PlSl please don't brings up that this approach is not fool proof, duh, nothing is fool proof, but certain things can increase your odds in your favor.)
