Gun Shopping: I need a handgun - Home Defense <$500 (Porn Inside)

Because they made me wait and I've had more time to look at this bad boy, I'm liking this even more than the one I got. I might be able to trade that motherfucker in

Go to any base that sells weapons and you walk out same day with gun after background check

I live in Ohio bro. I'm pretty much fucked in that action Spirit if I was in Norfolk I would have done that already. Plus, I would have walked out today with the weapon but it was the background check that held me up.

It might be because of the military, that's what the lady told me. I'm hoping it's not from a situation I had with my ex-wife when she call the cops on some bullshit saying she was scared of me (because I was trying to stop her from walking out with some shit that I bought)

you're laughing, if that's it I'm going to have to bust my ass to get that bullshit expunged from my record. I'm about to get going on my transportation business and if that DV holds me up I got bigger problems because they don't allow folks with a DV to run that kind of business.

Peace,

Ill, what can you tell me about this weapon? Does it have a traditional safety? It looks nice, but I do prefer the traditional safety on a home weapon. I don't have kids, but I may have them in the future.

I'm not going to be careless with it but I did get a hold of my father's gun when I was a kid though I wasn't supposed to and he thought he hid it

It doesn’t. These were originally made for the military so there’s no traditional safety. This gun is accurate and the trigger is fantastic. Canik is a Turkish manufacturer so it doesn’t have a huge footprint in the US yet but you’d better believe that these pistols will increase in price once word continues to catch on.

Not trying to tell you how to get around the background check just telling you the law in Ohio. Ohio doesn't require hand to hand transactions to do background checks. Just showing each other identification and that's it. You also don't have to register your weapons at the local law enforcement agency either. You just can't carry concealed but Ohio is still open carry.

Can't be a gunfighter without a gun. No round in chamber means you just a spectator...or victim
Right my point is safety vs. Non safety...
I have a Glock 30 .45 and a Sig 9mm. I hate walking around or leaving the gun in reach with a round chambered. The next gun I buy will definitely have a safety. And for home defense.... a shotgun is the only way to go.

Check came back clean. They said military folks generally take longer for some reason. Glad that shit with my ex didn't hold me up. Going to pick up my Taurus G2C tomorrow.

Went and checked out the Canik TP9SF. That is one pretty damned gun. That might be my second.

I'm a vet and I've never waited more than twenty minutes on any gun. Maybe because I had a secret clearance while I was in. I know it's the lowest level clearance but maybe that has something to do with it. Also being a vet you get your ccw for free in Ohio without having to take the class. Just go down to the sheriff's office and tell them you want to sign up for a ccw. Your vet status should already be in the system. Mine was. They just have you sign for the application and take your picture and thirty days later it's in the mail. I suggest you go online and read up on the laws for ccw though. Just in case take your DD214 down to the sheriff's with you when you go apply.

I've been seriously looking at getting one but my old lady keeps telling me that I got a gun fetish and I need to slow down. I already got a shotgun for home use that's dam good for the money I paid. Maybe I'll break down and get one before the year is out. I like the fact that it's a sawed off without all the ATF bullshit classification and state classification. Plus Ohio just allowed residents to own these this year. Every state don't allow these BTW.
No love for the 40 cal?

I've never taken a look at .40 cal before. I've always been a 9mm guy myself. Also this gun looks like it's basically the G2c in 40 cal. Same design and everything except for the extra key safety. The thing I don't like about higher calibers is the recoil. It messes with the follow up on target after the initial shot. I used to own a 45 and my second shot was always all over the place.

Thanks all of you for your input and advise. This continues to be the best spot online for everything. That Canik TP9SF (or the upgraded one) might be my second piece

Next question, buying ammunition. What's the best place to go and the cheapest? I can afford to buy it in bulk

Absolutely. It's just hard to recommend anything over a 9 when you take cost of bullets into consideration. I have a 9, 40, and 45. I never shoot the 9. The others are just more fun to shoot, but bullets cost a lot more. The 40 would be the first thing I grabbed in an emergency. Only because I have more practice with it. If I could get a ccl, I would get HK P30 subcompact 9. I may get it anyway. They will all stop a man the same though.

Yeah my older bro introduced me to a 40 cal over a decade ago... Def liked that 1 the most out of all the pieces I touched...he has a lot of ammo(ex military)

Exactly this part "I like the fact that it's a sawed off without all the ATF bullshit classification and state classification.":yes:

It's not sawed off.
Because it came off the assembly line that way but it's just as short and the stock is just as short there for its a legalized sawed off. In fact it's not even classified as a shotgun by the atf.

Sawed off means a barrel length of less than 18 inches.
12 gauge Kel-tec KSG Bullpup...hold off a small army with this beeyatch

I already said it ain't actually a true sawed off. I only called it that to compare it to one. In fact the barrel length of the Shockwave is 14.375 inches. Well under the 18 inches required to make it a sawed off.

And as I previously stated is not even identified as a shotgun by the manufacturer or the atf. It's a firearm. That's how they got around making it so small off the assembly line in the first place and you don't have to register it or get a tax stamp.

Ok... I see what your saying now. I like it.

Just came up on my feed and thought to share it for those leery of carrying a hammer cocked
