The VFX/SFX look great to me. It looks movie quality.
I’m watching it directly on Paramount+ which is broadcasting it in 4K UHD. I watch it thru the Paramount+ app on my cable box which is 4K UHD. And my TV in the living room is 4K UHD.
I had watched an episode from season one in my bedroom TV which is just a HDTV, it looked good but not high quality.
I suspect if folks are watching thru a DL or somewhere else and not directly from Paramount+, they aren’t getting the full quality.
All the streaming sites broadcast on 4K UHD.

Episodes 1 - 2
Watched these two this evening at home.
Starts out with that A.I. being removed from Master Chief. It looks to have happened between seasons.
The Covenant looks to be gearing up for something big that only Masterchief seems to be concerned about.
Dr. Halsey is still around but she has been replaced.
Looks like it’s gearing up for something big with the Covenant. They said more action for this season and more connections to the video game. I never played the game so I have no idea what is going on or where they are going.
Gonna let a few episodes stack up before catching up.
Looking forward to them.

Season 2 episode 4 was as epic as expected. Some major deaths that I wasn't expecting too. Can't wait for the fallout in episode 5 now

It's just okay to me. Not bad at all. Better than last season although I liked last season. But it ain't great.

Episodes 3 - 4
Watched these two this afternoon.
The team made it to the Reach without support following MasterChief’s suspicions.
We got some Gay Stuff to debut in the series, it’s interesting who they got to play a gay character. As soon as the camera rose from that pot, I knew what was gonna happen. HaHa!!!
Halsey and Soren meet up, I was expecting some heavy confrontation between the two, but their reunion turned out to be nice and courteous.
Two major characters met their end, one was completely unexpected.
Episode 4 probably has to be the best episode of the series. Plenty of action with the team (Not suited up) going against the Covenant invasion.
Gonna let a couple more episodes stack up again before catching up.

I thought THAT was great! But isn't that the fans major issue with this show? That master chief is without his helmet too much?

It’s a TV show.
Having him with the helmet on constantly when he is not on the battlefield would look retarded.
Also, the nitpicking mofos would still complain that they were copying “The Mandalorian”.

I don't see the HUGE improvement this season story wise that everyone else seems to.
And the actors they just Essentially killed off were NOT the problem.
More Woodbine is always smart.
But I wasn't overly impressed with this season.

I watched these this afternoon at home.
We get to see Master Chief without his shirt on and get a good, clear view of all the scars on his torso from the surgical enhancements he has undergone.
I busted out laughing when Laera went “Neagan” on that shopkeeper for information.
Looks like Riz is gonna take a hiatus. Good chance she will return when she is fully healed.
Episode 6/7 had Kai running around in her Spartan garrison uniform. We got some good views of that healthy Ass of hers in that outfit. That Amazon got some booty on her.
Episode 7 was a slow burn, but the ending looks like it’s gonna lead into a high action season finale.
This season is one episode short of season one. The season finale debuts this week.
Looking forward to it.
