im still trying to figure out as black grew into adulthood he never grew out of being timid..but this story is no different then a neighbors of mines son..
the mother wasn't a drug addict but she use to all ways tease him as a young boy,she would out loud tell him on the porch why you dont hav no freinds
or you the only one not getting no pussy ect..ect..ect...and me and other neighbors would be seeing this like damm home boy gone be fucked up when
he gets older but now he is an adult its like nothings change he is about 19-20 now and still timid an a loner, and he has a older sister that turned dyke..
black's character is no different from thousand's of other people that out here rite now just like him...

The beach scene was the only gay thing. You'll be good after that if it made you uncomfortable.

:lol:I saw the movie poster on Exodus and saw it was a black movie so i watched the trailer to see what the movie was about, when the trailer first started they showed the two guys in the car and from the way they were looking at each other then i was like :smh: huh. I think the trailer ended with them about to kiss on the beach or something , so the trailer started and ended on some gay stuff so i didn't watch the movie

At the end of the day the film was aight.and yes sir u r correct...but was able to watch it with the lady.

If I got thru that French film irreversible this was a cakewalk...

Not the gay defender...jus an independent film watcher..
The film was rated extremely high on several web review sites

So if these white mutha fuckas keep saying it's okay for the Police to Kill unarmed Black Folk you'll begin to co-sign that shit too? FOH!

In my own independent assessment the film was decent, it covered a vast subject base and did it in a non explicit way.
Personally i prefer various projects receive funding for publication and not the same comedy or gangster films that seems to permeate the market when it comes to black films.
again I am not a gay rights activist, and it truly is a discredit to even associate gay rights in the same conversation as civil rights.
and one more personal tadbit , my younger 1st cousin was murdered at 22 at the hands of Columbia sc police dept. (unarmed) so nahhhhh I'm never gonna consign police misconduct, been thru to much myself

The cinematography in this shit was dope. I think at this point in my life I know how to either turn away from gay shit or fast forward through it. The beach scene was disturbing but aside from that I can't really remember too much shit.

The film itself.....wasn't really all that great to me. I think they should've went more into his adulthood and how he ended up being a dope boy and shit and that transition.

Watched it on Exodus. It was just okay. I was only offended by all of the hype surrounding the flick leading me to believe that it was a really good film. And yeah, how the fuck you just don't explain Remy's departure like Crave from Family Matters? Also, is this really a Black film or a film featuring Black actors?

It didn't really need to be explained . He was a dope boy....in the 2nd act of the film he's missing and they talk about how he's not there alluding to him being dead. Wasn't really much to say. I think that mystery sort of lead up to why he ended up how he was by act 3. He ended up turning into the one dude in his life that was there and that showed him attention which was Cottonmouth(Forgot his name in the film).

I liked the transitions
Once he found out he sold drugs and his mom did drugs it changed his life
Once he hit ol boy with the chair it changed his life
And then when he reconnected that changed his life

To me he was going thru it because his life was just difficult. He was broke and his mom was a crack head it don't matter what your sexual orientation is or if you black white or other no matter what high school you go to you're going to get picked on.

I liked how black rebuilt himself in Juan image we didn't need to see Juan die he's a drug dealer it happens
Probably not in some grand fashion
Just got killed.

Really good movie to me

Anybody who sat up here and watched Spartacus on Starz can fall all the way back
That's show had more gay scenes than anything I've ever seen

Spartacus wasn't based on gay shit.

It was a show that had gay shit on it. Absolutely no comparison.

This whole movie was based on him growing in to his faggotry

So by that logic you'd rather actually watch multiple instance of people doing gay ass shit on screen than to have it implied and personified in a character? Is that what you're telling me right now lol?

The WHOLE movie was based around him being gay. Just like Dope was about a kid growing up in his environment, this was about a kid being gay and even being reunited with his gay first love.

You're trying to compare a minute versus two hours

This was a Logo channel move, point blank period. You can't even defend or compare the shit no matter how much you try.

People are so use to the traditional structure of films. They want everything to flow like Citizen Kane. Some shit doesn't have to be explained in films.

an essential person should be explained and not just dismissed as if he were a secondary or unimportant character

They did a pointless update of his mom

Bro.....this film the tone was gay but a lot of it was implied. It wasn't overly gay or anything like that. I've seen more gay shit in the Wire or Spartacus or hell even Empire in ONE episode then I seen in this movie.

You sound silly.
I don't need to defend the movie
and at the same time you're defending a show where there were 20x's more gay scenes in it
and the last 2 seasons one of the main characters had a motherfucking boyfriend.

He'd rather see his gay shit in the open I guess than to have to have it implied. I'm surprised at his stance on this.
If not for 1 or 2 scenes in the movie moonlight would've been about a little runt of a kid who was poor and his mother was on drugs in miami

You're not defending it :hmm:

You're comparing gay scenes to a gay movie

You're not that dense man. You know there's a big difference

Right. It really was not that bad aside from the beach scene which you can fast forward.

I am saying I'd rather see a movie where a character is gay and don't do much gay shit
than a show where it's not gay but hella gay shit goes on.

He was the most important character in his life and the most known actor in the movie. The one they promoted in the trailer.

They did an update of Theresa and his mom :hmm:

I can agree with this. He was the most integral part of his life and the only father figure he had. I'm OK with not updating it but I can agree he could have and easily should have deserved an update.

It was a gay movie. If more gay shit occurred it would be gay porn.

What was the movie about? Please tell me.

You being stubborn. They did updates all of them. The update was him being dead lol. They referred to him as being dead lol. They all had updates lol. The only character that required one was Chi himself.

They alluded to him being dead, come on, you're being dense. You know exactly what I mean. Stop being sensitive and defensive.

We know he was a drug dealer and we know he ended up dead. I'm saying he deserved more.

Sensitive? Hardly. Dense? You're the one being dense needing to see a funeral so you can know he's dead. The dude character was gone. I'm not sure why he needed more than what he got. You're saying Teresa and his mom didn't need updates. They didn't either. They got one. I'm just not with telling a filmmaker how to tell as tory because a million other filmmakers told a story that way. I can appreciate when they stray away from he norm.

The movie itself ended with no ending as well. Did you have a problem how it ended?

:roflmao::roflmao:

The main character wasn't even a sissy gay dude with a lisp or excessive swishy hand movements, which I can understand making people uncomfortable, but he was an introvert as a youth, then a roided up drug dealer later. If you saw him on the street, his image doesn't scream "gay"...and if someone were to wonder if he was gay...well...yeah you know what I mean.
