Killmonger should come back according to the comics

Killmonger.jpg

He would be unsuccessfully resurrected by the Mandarin and Klaw before finally returning to the land of the living thanks to the remaining members of the death regiment. Alive again he planed to collapse the Wakandan economy to usher in a new age. He also empowered a new Malice to battle T’challa.

Bed Bugs ....?? WTF happened to this thread ??

tumblr_p49cev8YtJ1urawtlo5_540.gif

T’Chaka kills his kin at the start of the film. Then his son T’Challa kills his kin at the end.

....but they manage to use their advanced technologies to save/heal two CACs ?!?

Loki creates all kinds of havoc and trouble yet Thor always protects his “kin”

Not so subtle message Marvel

KM is more like Hela than Loki

If BP grew up with KM from day one like Loki and Thor it would have ended differently...

KM killed Zuri, threw BP over a waterfall and put him in a comma, was about to kill Shuri and yet BP still offered to help/save him...

But KM like Hela, lost family member returns to take throne, kills Wakandans/Asgardians and tried to kill you, Thor and T'Challa had no choice ...

KM choose to die...

Hela was left to die... but I think she survived and will be Thanos's Death...

Alright...

I saw the movie friday. I had a busy weekend and I just now have literally read this entire thread. I have to keep it real.

I was disappointed with Black Panther. I am a life long BP fan. (have the entire 90's run of the comic) I am also a Coogler Fan. I loved Creed. That to me is creme de la creme film making.

BP was not creme de la creme film making.

It was an OKAY movie. There are so many things Coogler has already done that he could have done here. I had planned on seeing this movie twice last weekend. I ended up just buying another couple some tickets. My girl also felt the same way.

I appreciate the representation and the writing. But overall the movie fell flat to me.

I will see it again. But for me this is not the greatest movie ever or even the best MCU movie ever.

I was blown away by Creed. I was not blown away by BP.

Can you talk a little about the female characters I feel like we aint giving them enough light...

no disrespect but I felt like this was how Wonder Woman was SUPPOSED to be on the island.

fam, why would you see it again if you and apparently your girl didn't enjoy it the first time?

i actually think the first two acts of wonder woman are better than BP as a whole from a film making stand point. wonder woman fell apart after the WWI scene.

BP ended up being a better overall movie than wonder woman due to that horrendous third act from WW.

Happened here in nyc. We had to close a whole theater on 42nd Street because of bed bugs. That happened back in 2012 but I haven't been to that theater since.

Wait, bedbugs?
In a theater? Who sleeping in the establishments?!

That sounds like a tip for authorities...

I have AVOIDED movie theaters for YEARS now being EXTREMELY selective

(and the fact that they is SUCH an overflow they can't keep the theaters clean is a SERIOUS issue.

that is why I completely understand @Camille not even making an exception for the Panther.

The rest absolutely matters

The only reason t't'challa knew where Klaw was is because of Erik.

^^^

I think MANY missed that..

Erik was a MASTERMIND

he was also psychotic but a mastermind none the less.

EVERYTHING was calculated.

Actually I bet GOOD money there is another version of this movie somewhere in Coogler's vault.

What do you think:confused:? Was Killmonger reeeeeeeally the villain?

yes, he clearly was.

and I'm not liking how our people are being portrayed in social media as not able to see the distinction here.

He has depth layers and shades and is a fascinating representation of the American Black experience

but there is NO question no doubt he is a villain.

Much like how Tony Soprano, Vic Makey, Walter White, Don Draper are villains.

Just because we can understand and sympathize with Erik

doesn't mean he is the HERO

he NEVER claimed to be or aspired to be a hero.

Hell Erik would be slitting anyone's throat who thought otherwise

Nakia.
Royalty. Strong. Skilled. She was what they failed to make black widow. She operates outside of men. They did not hold her worth. She is skilled in fighting she has compassion a strong morale compass so much so she essentially agreed with Erik. They had to get her while she was saving women
T'challa could not convince her to stay for love. She loved him but us more.

She rode for right. She saved his family she put the kingdom back together
She still has her strength and femininity in tact

fam...I UNDERSTAND

It took the rise of the panther god for me to BRAVE another movie theater that I didn't know the people who cleaned it PERSONALLY.

So was T'Challa like MLK and Killmonger Malcolm X??

And the biggest issue I had was them allowing a white man to walk around there at all.

Also the discussion to reveal their tech was kinda naive at BEST especially given the reason why they worked so hard to keep the whole country a secret.

But the BIGGEST BEST thing I saw was little kids of all colors excited to see the film:grin::grin::grin:

No. Because neither one of them had a nation they controlled.

T'challa is like Mandela

Killmonger is like Dessaline.

Rich Buckler who did that illustration also co-created Deathlok for MARVEL.

I met Buckler and his wife at a NY Comic Con some years back.
Dude was one of the most gracious Comic people I ever met.

And Klaus Janson has been one of my favorite inkers for years.

i didn't say i didn't enjoy it. I said it is not what people are making it out to be. it is definitely not a 10/10.

Its all subjective fam we understand (and it was well stated)

and honestly all that hype doesn't help.

Aint NOTHING perfect

I think the 10/10 it IS receiving?

Is based on a few factors:

Unreal unrivaled expectations and pressure on the ENTIRE production

on the studio on the director actors producers crew promotion

to pretty much pull all that off?

You gotta respect it.

A fairly YOUNG director given a MASSIVE project

An ENTIRELY Black Cast

The previous SUCCESS of ALL the other Marvel movies

Making an ENTIRE film based in Africa with a Black cast and having it TRANSLATE world wide?

And to be real...

if you (AND your GIRL) gonna see it again?

In the media OVERLOAD society we live in?

With ALL the options you have at your disposal?

Where not only do we not re-watch stuff, we barely re LISTEN to songs?

I think you might have to admit it deserves a 10/10 on and off the screen just based on YOUR admitting you seeing it again!

(cause I aint PAYING to see NO MOVIE AGAIN that aint 10/10)

again it is your opinion and it is valid.

Just a quick counterpoint.

movie pass ftw.

if i didn't have movie pass i likely would not be seeing it again.

and the main reason i am seeing it again is for the MCU continuity.

i appreciate all of the "firsts" and milestones that were reached with this movie. to reiterate, i have not said it was a bad movie. it just wasn't all that people are making it out to be.

as i stated earlier Creed is a better movie and it is all that it was made out to be. I really was expecting that level of film making here given the budget and the players in front and behind the screen. we didn't get Creed level film making here.

a few changes here and there and this movie would have been there.

the dora milaje were underused (omg there was so much potential here)

the score fell flat

some editing choices/cuts and pacing were baffling

i can keep going.
