Two VERY different (female) perspectives on the Black Panther...

2nd chick:

- she is not really a geek - she doesn't know shit about comic book characters... the memorabilia arrayed around her are just props to her - but she is a "hardcore" Batman fan

- IME- black girls that die blonde and / wear lite colored contacts rarely are in touch with their blackness

I've run across the 2nd chick already... she only likes Winter Soldier (first MCU movie she saw)- is generally ignorant of marvel characters

1st chick loves the movie
2nd chick doesn't... my guess is BP is so rich in blackness that this girl feels uncomfortable

Yeah, second chic doesn't know what she's talking about. I didn't make it all the way thru, I stopped after she compared the people of Wakanda to Trump supporters.

‘Black Panther’ Actress Letitia Wright Hopes Shuri Inspires More Girls To Pursue STEM

Shuri is a gift.

The younger sister to T’Challa (aka the Black Panther) is an Afrofuturistic engineer who can build technologically advanced societies and fully heal spinal bullet wounds in less than 24 hours. She’s the most intelligent person in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and leads Wakanda, the most advanced society in the universe. She also happens to be a 16-year-old unapologetically black princess who isn’t afraid to tell a white man, “Don’t scare me like that colonizer.”

Shuri is the s**t.

Letitia Wright, who plays everyone’s new favorite Disney princess in her breakout “Black Panther” role, told HuffPost how much it meant to both her and the film’s audiences for director Ryan Coogler and writer Joe Robert Cole to write Shuri as a multidimensional character.

“[Shuri] shows that when you have people coming together to just take time to make characters well-rounded, well-thought-out, not one way, amazing things like that happen,” the Guyanese actress told HuffPost. “Having a character arc and journey is refreshing, so it’s good writing ... Now there’s a breakthrough of [audiences] seeing people [they] relate to and that’s refreshing.”

Shuri lit up the screen with her carefree demeanor and unfiltered words each time she graced a scene. Her youthfulness was refreshing, yet her wisdom and courage shine through in the film as she guides Martin Freeman’s Everett Ross through an aerial battle while physically taking on another fight of her own.

Wright said even she was surprised at the boldness of blackness and the motherland shown on-screen. But from comic book pages to the MCU, the marriage of positive images of Africans with technology in “Black Panther” is important for fans to see, she said.

“Even reflecting on it now, I can see little glimpses of when they go down to the Great Mound and go down to Shuri’s lab how beautiful that is. Just seeing that there’s young kids in Shuri’s lab, teenagers and people coming together to create technology. That’s beautiful,” she said. “All together, it means a lot to see the continent in that way and see the motherland in that way ’cause it’s such a beautiful place.”

The actress also said she hopes young girls will unlock their potential when watching Shuri, especially when it comes to STEM.

“I hope it inspires them and I hope it does [so] positively. I hope it sparks the next person,” Wright told HuffPost.

This isn’t the last fans will see of Shuri. The princess of Wakanda will also have “a cool little part” in “Avengers: Infinity War,” premiering in May. And, fingers crossed, maybe fans will get to see Shuri as the Black Panther one day.

Im seeing takes on the internet and people can't help but inject their own insecurities into this movie man damn.
TOTALLY AGREED. :yes::yes:

And the WORST PART IS... some people inject their 'insecurities' AND their 'personal politics' into this Black Panther movie... in SUCH A WAY that they NEVER, EVER DO :hmm:... with OTHER Marvel Movies... or OTHER DC Movies... or just OTHER Movies, in general. Period. :smh:

Plus, I see TONS of Black Folks on social media saying: "Why we gotta be sooo EXTRA just to see the Black Panther movie?!? Why folks gotta wear Dashiki's & whatnot?" :hmm:

Yet these same complaining-ass nuccas don't say A COTDAMN WORD whenever White folks show up at the movie theaters, like this...

I've been honestly tuning out because of it.

Yea the contrary push back crowd is going in depth on things lol.

People are upset ppl didn't hate everything about killmonger not realizing that everyone knows killmonger is the villain he is not the hero he is the bad guy so no not how he treated black women is a issue because he ain't the hero. It's wrong just like how he was wrong cause he was the villain lol

It's just when a villain has relatable ideas and passion where you can empathize with his overall message is where this comes in

But honestly the people's who skirt he pulled up when talking about sitting back and not doing shit are the ones most upset

Two VERY different (female) perspectives on the Black Panther...

Haven’t watched the first vid yet but the woman in the second vid seems like a big dummy.

Her first issue with the movie is that she objects to a monarchy as a system of government. Seriously.

It’s obvious when shit-for-brains negroes want to be contrarian and dislike things simply because the majority of black people support those things.

I haven't read one review or watched a whole video on someone else's opinion about this movie. I've only read what is posted on BGOL. I'm not wasting my time. No need to read about positive reviews because I already know the movie was great.

Not seeking it out, can't escape it on twitter timelines when even Michelle Obama is talking about the movie lol
she didn't say anything bad but I'm just saying it's far reaching and impacting.

All DC need to do is give some talented brothers and sisters a big bufdget and do ALL the Milestone properties STARTING with Static, Hardware and Icon.
Is that ALL they need to do? I mean...they need to get a vision before they do anything cuz they taking L's in this comic book movie game. They just made a big budget film with arguably the most recognizable comic characters in the world and barely turned a dollar of profit. I'm not sure I want them touching those characters you mentioned right now.

Yes that's all they need to do.
If you go to the threads I've improved those movies 10 fold
give me a shot.
Zack Snyder has sunk the D.C. ship. He is coming up with the stories and all that shit and honestly he just ain't in his element and nobody gonna tell him Watchmen was the anomaly, not the norm for him and nobody will tell him that.

Wonder Woman's score that the film got stuck with underlies everything about Zack Snyder.
